Bring cash!! Gumbo was amazing and the oysters were at a price you can’t beat. So fresh and delicious. It was my first time having gumbo with potato salad. AMAZING!! MRB was recommended by a local – I am so glad I stopped by. There was a DJ playing in the back patio and sports on the tvs. Plenty of stimulation and entertainment while dining. Get your drinks in the front before you go to the back for a meal on the patio. You’ll see MRB when you see the bubbles in the air!

We watched a YouTube review by @GulfCoastalConnections- this weekend we walked up and we Were NOT disappointed. The gift of gumbo was something to write home about. The Crawfish balls, remarkable! The tangy bite of jalapeño ranch sauce was signature. The perfection of the beer’s chill on a winters day chased all doubts about NOLA’s ability to roll out memorable hospitality.

Dropped in for Saints game. Charbroiled oysters and fries with beers. All were excellent and reasonably priced. Pricing seems to vary wildly around the French Quarter, but MRB was very reasonable when considered against some others.

Good bartenders, chill vibe and crowd, cool patio area, and plenty of TVs for game day. There were Dolphins fans, Browns fans, Texans fans in the mix and everyone was chill and just had fun watching the games! In a world where we take sports way to seriously, it was good to see this mix!

I’ll be back!

We walked all over the French quarter and this bar reminded us more like home than anything. The service was great even when playoff games and Mardi Gras parade happened. They were all great. Kelsey was the best and she was also from the area where we live so her personality was great. When we come back this will be our #1 spot for drinks that is for sure.

Stopped here because of the ciry pass. Wasn’t sure of what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by the food and service. We ate the burger and fried green tomato sandwich with were both excellent. Bartenders and rest of the staf were very friendly and attentive.

We stopped in to listen to Mark Paradis as my husband is a big fan. We sat out in the courtyard to listen to him. We had the nachos and gumbo and both were very tasty! Great place with a super chill vibe.

Activity 4: Dinner at MRB Bar & Kitchen
515 St Philip St, New Orleans, LA 70116

After a full day of sightseeing, we were ready to eat dinner and lucky for us, MRB Bar & Kitchen was one of the restaurants included in our Go City Pass.

Here’s how it works:
• The pass gets you one of four meal options, each valued at $19.
• When you walk in, it feels like a divey neighborhood bar. Keep walking all the way to the back for the food counter.
• They’ll scan your pass, and you can choose to sit indoors or in the backyard patio (where they sometimes have live music too).

Hubby ordered the River Bottom Burger Combo, and I went all in on the Chicken Fried Alligator Sandwich Combo. Surprisingly? Fried gator tastes a lot like fried chicken, crunchy and totally worth the try.
You can also order beers/drinks at the bar. We both agreed that getting a full meal covered by the pass? Major win.

The food is really good, we stopped in with a go city pass and had the gator sandwich and burger. Both were really good, but I definitely enjoyed the gator more. The bartender was an absolute gem, she told us funny stories about mardi gras in the 80s, absolutely the best part of this place was the awesome service!!

Stopped here since we wanted an oyster fix! MRB didn’t disappoint and delivered great chargrilled oysters. Order drinks at bar & order food out back in courtyard. We also got the crawfish bites, but that was just meh. Service was just ok. Place is very divey and seems like where the locals come…the layout seemed really confusing at first since we didn’t know where or how to order.
