Brunch Spot Waikiki
Arrived in Waikiki, looking for a solid brunch spot. : r/VisitingHawaii
Reviews
Service overall has been good, though there is some room for improvement.
On our last visit, the owner was present on the floor. We noticed that he was actively engaging and connecting with tables where guests appeared to share his ethnic background, but did not make the same effort with others, including us. While we understand that people naturally gravitate toward familiarity, it was disappointing and uncomfortable to observe such a visible difference in engagement. It made us feel overlooked, which took away from an otherwise positive experience.
As much as we truly love the food and enjoy coming here, feeling equally welcomed and valued as guests matters just as much as the quality of the meal. We hope this was simply unintentional, as this place has so much going for it.
The food was solid across the board. The omelette was flavorful and well-portioned, the loco moco hit that perfect local comfort note, and the French toast was delicious. Definitely a place you come back to for the food.
Service, though, could use improvement. The servers didn’t really check in on us. I needed coffee creamer and some jelly, but since no one came by, I just let it go. I didn’t want to make a fuss and still tipped 18%, but a quick check-in would’ve made a big difference.
That said, I’d still return because the food and shorter wait time make it worth it. Hopefully they tighten up the service — it would easily make this place a top-tier brunch spot.
The food was well-seasoned—not too salty and perfectly balanced. The garlic shrimp was especially delicious. Thank you for the excellent service.
The food was very good. We enjoyed everything we ordered. Lox platter, loco moco, eggs, French toast, bacon, sake, and coffee!
Service was based on using the QR code but they delivered in a timely manner. People also checked on us regularly. Overall friendly staff.
In wakiki it was a good spot! Would stop again
As for the service, we found our waiter (young man with blondish hair) rude. He only told is to scan qr code to order, and we didn’t see him again until he brought out our food. We didn’t get the physical menu that many other tables got.
It took them 20 mins to give us water, and almost 30 minutes to bring out food. They only brought the water and food out after we asked. We also had a coffee after our brunch, and that server came up to us asking us to pay for our check right as we got our coffee—we were getting rushed to leave. I would give ZERO stars for service if possible. I was going to give an overall rating of two stars, but this horrible service deserves a one star.
They also charge a mandatory “kitchen appreciation fee”.
The interior is gloomy, but the music is good.
I think this brunch spot is really nothing special, and there is way better in wakiki it terms of service.
The owner came by to say hi and he was very adorable.
Overall vibes are very cozy – 10/10 would recommend!
My companion ordered one of Hawaii’s local specialties, the Loco Moco, and its impressive presentation instantly caught our attention. A juicy hamburger steak sat atop a mound of fluffy rice, crowned with a perfectly cooked sunny-side-up egg. Everything was generously covered in a rich gravy sauce that enhanced the overall flavor. The steak was especially satisfying, with its juicy texture and deep mushroom notes. The owner kindly explained that they use 100% locally sourced grass-fed beef, which was a nice touch.
This place impressed us not only with the taste of its food, but also with the freshness of the ingredients, thoughtful presentation, and relaxed atmosphere. I’d love to come back again and would definitely recommend it to friends and family. It’s a perfect spot for anyone looking to enjoy a variety of delicious brunch options~
