Social Profile:

Knight’s Steakhouse & Grill is a proud family-owned and operated business. Our story began in 1952 when Ray Knight opened Knight’s Market after returning from his service in the Korean War. In 1984, he launched the first Knight’s restaurant in Ann Arbor. We’re thrilled to be part of the Jackson community—a place that held a special spot in Ray’s heart, especially for its golf courses. Knight’s in Jackson brings the same sizzling quality, warm atmosphere, and unbeatable value that our guests have come to expect. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a juicy steak, fresh seafood, and a variety of other delicious menu items. We’re known for pouring a strong drink, serving ice-cold beer, and offering a carefully curated wine selection.

Old-school outfit serving a variety of steaks, seafood & burgers in a comfy setting with a full bar.

We were a group of ten, our server seemed rather disorganized. Once she waited on a couple people, she would disappear and forget about the rest of us. I’ve never before had a Bloody Mary served with citrus fruit on a skewer. Were they out of celery? We had to ask several times for drink orders from other servers because our server was missing in action. Bills were incorrect. Meh. Not impressed with the service, although the food was tasty.

I ordered the Knight’s Cowboy Steak, the 20-22 oz bone-in ribeye described on the menu as their signature cut with “rich flavor from fine marbling.” At $65, I expected a high-quality, well-marbled piece of meat.

The steak arrived medium rare as requested, with a good sear, but it was dry throughout—no juices were released when cut, and none pooled on the plate. The texture was chewy and tough, requiring effort to eat despite the correct doneness. Upon reviewing the photo I took, the marbling is minimal and uneven—only scattered flecks rather than the fine, even distribution advertised.

The accompanying sautéed mushrooms tasted canned and appeared unnaturally uniform and plump, without the shrinkage or browning typical of fresh mushrooms properly sautéed. The baked potato and asparagus were great.

The most disappointing aspect was the menu’s claim of “fine marbling” for rich flavor, which did not match what was served. For this price, the steak fell well short of expectations in quality and execution. I would not return or recommend this dish.

Every time we go here something is always over done, this time it was my daughter’s steak. She ordered it medium but it was well done and dry, last time it was a simple cheeseburger that was black. Prime rib bites are amazing and my filet was good but everything else pretty bland. Service was good.

It is a bar and stake house togather.
Food portion vs price is very satisfactory. However dietary restrictions are difficult to follow because not clearly stated. If you request to consider allergy precautions, that will be considered. Classic food item, not many variation to try on. Not halal certified.
Service is average
Atmosphere is the main point for this place. Wonderful atmosphere and spacious indoor for family dinner.

From the moment we walked in, the experience was disappointing. The sign stated “please wait to be seated,” but there was no host present. After waiting about two minutes, we were then told to seat ourselves.

Once seated, it took roughly 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us, and another 10 minutes just to receive a beer. While the food came out fairly quickly, no silverware was provided, which required yet another 10-minute wait.

Unfortunately, my steak was served rare when I had ordered it medium. No waitstaff checked on us after the food was delivered, and it was unclear who our actual server was, as different people came to the table each time. The portion sizes were also quite small.

We asked to speak with a manager, but were told there was no manager on duty. On a positive note, the drinks were good, and the bartender was kind enough to comp our entire bill, which we appreciated.

Given the many positive reviews this place has, I’m hoping this was simply an off night.

We went on a Friday night and it took a very long time to get our food because they said they had a couple parties that were backing things up, which is totally understandable.

However, when we did get our food, it was way overdone and tasteless. I ordered a Medium-well and it was brought a crispy well done. Also, the price that was printed on the menu was different than the price we got on the bill. The menu listed the burgers at $16 each and the bill charged us for $18.50 each. We didn’t feel like arguing so just paid the bill and left.

The atmosphere is nice, but the food did not taste good and to then be charged more than what was listed left an overall bad taste in our mouth 🙁

Best steak I’ve ever had however my potatoes were not done all the way. I think it would be in your favor to offer better appetizers. I love places that have hummus options or whipped feta dishes. Basic bar food sides don’t seem to match the atmosphere.

Stopped in last night for the first time. Everything was great until the entree. Im an ACF executive chef so I try not to judge places much because I know how it goes. The entree was a feature for 28 dollars consisting of prime tenderloin medallions, Yukon mashed potato and asparagus with bearnaise sauce served in a 12 inch pasta bowl. The tenderloin came out with 2, 2 ounce medallions, a grey scoop (4 ounces) of mashed and 3 indivdual pencil asparagus (the diameter of a roofing nail combined). Prime now is $28.70 a lb. Each ounce is roughly 1.75 so $8.75 in meat. $2.00 in potato and 13 cents in asparagus. This is what it cost to produce this, so $10.13 total minus bearnaise from a base. At the menu cost of 28.00. The restaurant makes 17.87 which is a 64% profit with a 36% food cost. Serving this little of food in a 12 inch bowl already tricks the mind. Personally, I would have rather had only 2 ounces of sauce just on the beef and maybe 8 more pencil asparagus. There was an ounce of lettuce for a side salad (ice berg) and a 50 cent 2 ounce solo cup of ranch included (65 cents restaurant cost). Either way, although it was good, I dont think I would come back due to such a small portion size. Personally, I would have rather paid 30 to 35 for that with proper portions. If you cant produce the product at 28 dollars, than just dont do it. Service was exceptional, ambiance was great…just dropped the ball on portioning

Was a busy Valentine’s day, the service was good despite the crazy night for the service .. the steak was incredible also had some good scotch there . The atmosphere was quaint and felt as if the restaurant wasn’t busy as it was. Reminds me of an 80’s movie at a high end steak house with the Tiffany look alike lighting and darker atmosphere . We will definitely going back !!
