My friends and I decided to try this diner out. Seems like it’s family owned. The service while slow was amazing. It felt a little like they were welcoming us into their own home. We ordered the cream schnitzel, Jaggerschnitzel, onion schnitzel and the bacon schnitzel. Half of us agreed that the bacon and cream schnitzels were very similar in test and came to the decision that it was the same gravy used on both with the bacon schnitzel just having bacon in it. All four schnitzels were delicious. We all agreed that best side dish we had was the mashed potatoes. With the potatoes coking in, in a close second. The potato salad was ok but we think getting the potato salad with mayonnaise instead of the oil and vinegar we got it with would be the better option. To us the sauerkraut was good but it had a weird aftertaste and one of us compared it to eating an air freshener. I for sure will be returning to this restaurant and I believe my friends would want to come back too. Best part of the evening though was when we checked out and the waitress mentioned that we can even call ahead of time so we don’t have to wait as long as we were late because of the football game

I’ve driven by the German Diner many times over the years but never gone as frankly (no pun intended) I’m not a huge fan of German food. Luckily I have a German friend from up north who wanted to try it and now I’m a fan! From the moment you walk in you sense this is the real deal. Plain interior with a few scattered tables. A shelf of imported German beer. And one waitress – who I assume the owner – on a knee scooter, rolling around taking orders with her authentic German accent and demeanor. According to my friend, the menu is super authentic. From my salad with corn and green beans to her homemade sauerkraut (Wow!) we were salivating. It took almost an hour to get our meal but worth it. My chicken Cordon Blue was divine along with the vinegar potato salad (they have a mayo version too). My friend had some kind of vinegar meat dish that Germans will know what I’m talking about which she loved. If you’ve lived or been to Germany – and even if you haven’t / I urge you to check out this charming spot.

Absolutely delicious with lots of variety. The kiddos love my favorite – the Chicken Doner Plate. I have no idea what the sauce is but it’s absolutely delicious. I never let the leftovers go bad, they’re always eaten within a few hours ☺️. Everything is made from scratch and family run. Enjoy this hidden gem for the whole family when you have time to sit down for a home cooked meal. Dont pass on dessert! Every cake I’ve tried is absolutely delicious. I’m a repeat customer and will be back again soon!

We just had a date night here for dinner. The customer service is excellent! The food was absolutely delicious! And the raspberry cake hands down has been the best cake I have had in a very long time! This place will not disappoint. If you’ve never been, I suggest you go. We can’t wait to come back again. The food and customer service was excellent!

The German Diner in Lacey is absolutely incredible. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the warmth and heart that goes into this place. The owner, Miriam, is amazing and truly makes the experience special. You can tell she pours so much love into everything she creates. The menu is full of delicious homemade dishes inspired by traditional German favorites, and every bite is comforting and flavorful. Everything tastes fresh, authentic, and thoughtfully prepared. It honestly made my day stopping in here.

If you’re looking for amazing food, a welcoming atmosphere, and a restaurant that feels like home, this spot is a must visit. I can’t recommend it enough.

This is a mom-and-pop operation and pop was not in the building when I was there period mom was working her butt off! But she handle it well, and kept the food and cold drinks coming. Everything was wonderful! Traditional German food in a typical Diner setting. Tasty Brews and Brats and schnitzel!

The food is really great. The service is slow, but friendly. Everything is cooked to order. The portions are generous. It was actually a nice change to not feel rushed.

The ambiance is what you would expect for an older diner.

We live 45 minutes away and it was absolutely worth the drive. We will be back.

It’s a little mom and pop restaurant. They were super busy and it took a while to get our food. It was good but wish they had an option for smaller sides, wanted to try a little bit of everything but then had way too much food. Potato salad was also cold, used to the warm one and the spatzel needed salt. Warmed it up at home and added some seasoning, was much better. Only 1 unisex bathroom for the whole place.

Food was SPECTACULAR, made fresh! It takes about an hour for Schnitzels to cook so bring some good company for the wait. An easy to miss Golden spot, family owned, with a cozy and quiet atmosphere. I recommend to order ahead if you’re not willing to wait but otherwise the food is VERY DELICIOUS. I HIGHLY recommend the Garlic Schnitzel!
