I’ve been going to Carlitos for years — the drinks are always great, but the food has always been hit or miss. Unfortunately, this time was just terrible. My seafood enchiladas were so dry it felt like I had cotton mouth with every bite, also there was no flavor and the shrimp and scallops were completely overcooked and rubbery.
We ordered chicken tenders for my daughter, but they weren’t even real tenders …they just cut up a chicken burger patty into strips. Despite the inaccurate description, my daughter actually enjoyed them, so at least there’s that. My son’s burger was overcooked and dry, and my husband’s lupa burrito was a complete disappointment. The carne asada and carnitas were so tough and chewy, it honestly felt like we were chewing bubblegum.
What made it worse was the service. There were plenty of servers, yet ours seemed totally distracted and forgot several things we asked for….and the restaurant wasn’t even busy. Thankfully, another server stepped in and was amazing he super attentive and helpful.
After this experience, I’m seriously questioning whether we’ll be coming back. Such a huge letdown as far as food quality…especially after being loyal customers for so many years.

We were seated right away, though there was a bit of a wait before we could place our order. We gave our drink order to the person who seated us, and it took a little time to arrive.
Our waitress was kind and took time to chat with my husband about the Mexican restaurant business—and they even enjoyed a conversation about Spanish language, which made the experience feel even more personal.
I had the Chili Verde and my husband had the Carnitas—both were absolutely delicious! The pork was so tender it just melted in your mouth. The rice and beans were your classic Mexican restaurant style—simple and satisfying. A lovely return to an old favorite!

Wow! This is a true hidden gem! My husband surprised me by taking me there for dinner on New Year’s Eve. Everything was stellar! Food – served hot without a long wait time.
Service – they weren’t intrusive on us but made sure we had everything we wanted at the perfect time.

Food: Fajitas tasted great, came out quickly, were the correct temperature, and tasted pretty good!
Service: It took a little while, bust was pretty good!
Atmosphere: Outside was kind of lame. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t really anything either. Also our table didn’t have any salt either.

Food wasn’t bad but not great either, we had the special chili verde and chile Colorado combo plate the pork on the verde side was tough but had decent flavor the beef on the Colorado side was way more tender and packed with flavor much better, the beans and rice also just decent, banana margaritas fire! If I ever go back it’s margaritas and maybe a chilli Colorado burrito! The table they sat us at will pinch you.

Man did I find a great place! Would have never known this place was there I had not went wrong way… lol. Some of the best Mexican food I have had in a long time. Great customer service. Excellent food and complimentary chips and fresh salsa with your meal. Would definitely recommend coming from for lunch or dinner. Been here several more time since then a will continue to repeat!

My husband and I had the best lunch together here! The atmosphere is classy with prompt service. The food was delicious and prepared quickly on hot plates. Authentic Mexican cuisine with many choices including a few American choices like hamburgers. Healthy options with fresh veggies!
The margarita was the best ever with my tacos al cabon (spelling?) and the rice was moist and flavorful with the side of refried beans. I got an extra side of guacamole, which was fabulous!
They have a very nice courtyard for outdoor dining in front and plenty of room inside and outside in back for events. On the corner of Richland Rd and Bunce Rd. Yuba City.

Been here a few times before and it has good food! Usually not too busy. Staff is nice and welcoming. They sometimes take awhile to take your order and bring it out, but it always comes out hot and fresh. Good amount of seating and space, it’s just a bit odd how you have to take the side door to the bathroom outside. My mom also loves the complimentary chips and salsa. Chips tastes really fresh, warm and crunchy. The salsa also tastes great and homemade; I recommend getting the green spicy one if you like spice. Definitely worth trying!
