MoonShadow is the area’s only scratch kitchen. This means that we make everything in-house and have minimal freezer space. We also are the only restaurant in the area that offers brunch Sundays from 10 am – 2 pm . We use locally sourced items as much as possible and make sure that we obtain products that are organic, free-range and lack additives and preservatives. Our menu and libations change with the seasons. Reservations are not required but are strongly recommended, especially on holiday weekends. MoonShadow is also the best live music and entertainment venue in the area! Free dinner shows on Fridays or Saturdays and even sometimes on Sunday for brunch!
Creative small plates, BBQ, brunch & other bar fare with craft beers & live music nights.

Food is 4 or 5 star depending on what you order, service was 2 star – definitely holding this place back a bit. Skiing at nearby Wisp, my son called to make a dinner reservation on a Saturday night and was told that they don’t take reservations. We arrived to find out that they do take reservations and we now had to wait since we didn’t have one. Party of six, it wasn’t very busy and we waited for a little over half an hour while they seated a bunch of other folks (who maybe had reservations). The place is really nice, comfortable, and there was some live music setting up. My son has been there several times and recommended the wings. Plenty of beer on tap, wine, regular, and special soda as well. Service was slow at every point, water pitcher was delivered with fingers dipped inside which freaked out one of my other sons. The buffalo wings were really good, gotta be the best in this area. Most of the food was well above average, we had a salad ordered, that just never came, we reminded our server when the entrees arrived and it still never came. I ordered a French Dip and received their other steak sandwich, which they promptly replaced. Set your expectations for really untrained or incompetent service and go enjoy good food, beer, and music. Food always trumps service for me, so it’s still 4 stars.

I have been here several times during different visits. Good place with live music on some days. Good vibes and nice decoration. Food is fine, but some portions are small. The selection of drinks is good, even the non alcoholic. Plenty of parking.

Stopped here for Sunday brunch. Acoustic guitar and singer playing at noon. Got the crab dip and moodoggy. Delish!
Place was not too busy but we’re asked to wait 15 min for a table or get service at the bar. I really appreciated this because it tells me they didn’t want to overload their staff with too many tables. The bartender was very pleasant and kept us engaged with conversation about the area.

Visited MoonShadow for the first time recently and here’s my take… I am glad that I made reservations for a Saturday dinner. Places were crowded as there was an event at the lake that weekend and live music at the restaurant.
The overall opinion from our party was that the food was amazing BUT the service was lacking.
This is not a reflection of the kindness of the staff… more to the effect of understaffing. The servers seemed very rushed, and we waited an extended time to place the order and to receive our order. We didn’t want to bother the servers, but we had to grab them as they rushed by our table to ask for simple things like refills. Again, all the staff was kind and accommodating, I just believe there were not enough hands-on deck that evening.
With that being said, the food was outstanding. Everything came out hot, fresh and delicious. So, kudos to the chef on the Sweet Heat Chicken sandwich and Truffle fries.

I had a great time when I went early January. Food was great. I had rabbit pot pie and my buddy had the steak and Brie sandwich. Shared the spinach Gouda dip and a flight of beer.

Very quaint place in Maryland, the aesthetic fits the artsy and the indie, though the music is mainstream. The food is satisfying and has wonderful flavor, the steak and brie sandwich was delicious. The steak was tender, although slightly on the saltier side. I would’ve liked some raspberry in with the sandwich, but otherwise it was delicious. The blackberry salad was refreshing, and the kale and beet salad was delicious according to my father. My brother had the Ruben and said it was a very good sandwich. Our server was soft spoken, but sweet nonetheless and helpful! Definitely will come back if I’m in the area.

Stopped by for late lunch. Place was quiet and we were the only customers. Atmosphere is really unique and has a neat ecclecticism. Steak and Brie, Blackberry Salad, Rueben, Beet salad and Truffle Fries were all very delicious. Flavors were even better than expected.
Love the varied/unmatched flatware and glasses. One glass had a soapy residue and server replaced immediately with a better glass.
Solid Recommend.

We sat at the bar and had great service. Bar service is usually more attentive than table service at most establishments in my opinion. The food came out quickly and hot. There was live music which made the noise level higher than normal, but we were still able to have conversations. All food was good and we enjoyed our time here.

Went for the Buffalo cauliflower, they were out, but still left happy!! Super cool decor without going over the top tacky, the staff were really, really sweet. We got the blistered Olives, excellent, the smokehouse burger, perfectly done, and the buffalo shrimp, great balance of heat and flavor. Plenty of seating inside and puppies are welcome on the patio. We are just here for the weekend, but might check out their Sunday brunch before we head home.
