What a great little bakery! A “buttermilk drop” is a tennis ball sized cake donut ball. Delicious! They also have terrific apple fritters the size of a salad plate! Also Delicious! Everything looks and smells fantastic so it’s hard to not just order one of e eveything. Humble, basic decor and friendly staff. You’re paying a very reasonable price for pastry rather than fancy atmosphere and attitude. You’ll love this place if your a bakery nut like me!

Customer service alone TOP TIER! From walking in the door feeling like family to the patience and smiles.
We ordered the seafood grits with hash and eggs, stuff cream cheese beignets, and a side of smoked sausage for $31 (with tip).
They ran out of the sweet potato stuffed beignet but sis behind the counter said “I gotcha’ I love this!

I ordered my food at 7am thru uber eats. I’m thinking because it early I should get fresh food I GUESS NOT I’m so livid the whole order is a waste of money. The donuts are cold and poorly made at this point I should have asked for coffee donuts instead of glaze because that what I got. My sandwich is very COLD, HARD AND VERY OLD not to mention y’all don’t read I asked for strawberry y’all gave me grape. Customer service sucks and ya’ll don’t know how to take care of paying customers. Mark my words this is the last time I waste my money with this company and I will be sure to let my peers know as well how negligent, you guys are with people’s money and food. Pictures included with this review. AT LEAST MY DOG HAS A GOOD BREAKFAST COMING. SO DISAPPOINTED….

My first time trying this business. I got there bright and early and went to the Chicken & Waffle side. The food looked fresh and amazing. Ordered Shrimp and Grits, which came with eggs, hashbrowns and a biscuit. Also got the breakfast rice, 6 piece wings and one dozen original buttermilk drops.

While leaving the store- I noticed the bakery side – went in there and the selection of donuts was awesome. They even sell day old donuts at a special price.

Pros:
Staff is very friendly and welcoming.
They were opened as advertised.
Variety of menu items
Breakfast rice and homemade biscuit were delicious.
The amount of food for the price is nice.

Cons:
None of the remaining menu items were seasoned -didn’t even have salt or pepper. The shrimp were sauteed but also had no flavor. The buttermilk drops are not the nostalgic flavor I was expecting.

Summary: I expected better tasting food from an establishment in the Creole 7th ward. I understand that customer’s salt and pepper tastes are different; but totally bland food, in NOLA, should never happen.

The portion size. I got the shrimp and grits. The French toast sandwich with hot sausage and some bacon. It also came with a honey biscuit. I’m going to be dreaming about those shrimp and grits when I go back home .

So every year when I visit Nola, I have to go to buttermilk drop bakery. Not only are the pastries at the bakery fresh and delicious but the shrimp and grits are delicious. They give you great portions, it is well seasoned and it will keep you coming back.

My son had the chicken and waffles, and I had the French toast and waffles. He enjoyed his and I enjoyed mine. The food was fresh and the chicken was fried perfectly. No complaints on our end. Everything was made to order.

I watched a lot of YouTubers talk about this spot and they were right . This place is . If you indulge in sweets and pastries this your place . Sugar heaven . lol . Not only are the drops and donuts affordable there portions are big. They also have glazed beignets , they didn’t survive once I got them . Forget cafe du monde no disrespect , these are the truth . They do serve breakfast but I didn’t get the breakfast but just imagine having a home cook meal and a bakery at the same location . The people working there were polite and wonderful . Go support them trust me they are worth it . So price wise I got 12 different things from drops , a donut , a cinnamon roll and beignets for 15 dollars total . Their menu is extensive and varies but you won’t spend as much as you think . Keep that in mind .

These are the best donuts we’ve ever had! Seriously, if they are open go and get some! We waited at 5:30am(they open at 6am) because we are heading back home to Florida. We could not leave without getting a dozen mixed and a bag of the day old donuts(still the best even a day old)! prices are extremely affordable and way cheaper than getting from a chain restaurant. I don’t even really like donuts but these, these are donuts made with love! The powdered jelly donuts are so soft it’s like biting into the softest cloud. These are the kind of donuts a grandmother would make. The type of donuts where the recipe is hidden in a secret vault with its own hired security. The hospitality is unmatched. From the time we arrived til the minute we left everyone was so friendly! I can’t wait to come back and visit! I will definitely be coming back!

Heard about this place on Instagram and had to try while I was in the area. It didn’t disappoint! Good was great and priced well. One of the staff was so sweet to my daughter, giving her a donut while we waited. I will definitely be back very soon!
