Also had the margherita with burrata. It was also really good but watery bc of all the burrata. So it lacked the crispness of the NY slice, but the outer crust was still good.
The food is excellent and consistently delivered. I visited twice during my trip to California—once on my first day and again on my last—which says a lot on its own. I highly recommend ordering the pizza well done. It comes out with great texture and flavor and is clearly the highlight here.
Service: 3.6/5
The owner is fantastic—very funny, engaging, and clearly passionate about the business. That enthusiasm, however, doesn’t always translate to the rest of the staff. Many of the employees appear to be high school or college-aged and don’t show the same level of care or urgency as the owner, which impacts consistency. My second experience I was waiting for my drinks until after we had finished our dinner trying to flag someone down was pretty hard.
Cleanliness: 4.3/5
The restaurant was clean and well-kept on both visits, with no noticeable issues.
Atmosphere: 4.0/5
Casual and laid-back. The atmosphere reflects a neighborhood pizzeria, and while it’s comfortable, it’s the food and the owner’s personality that stand out more than the setting itself. I really like the woodfired pizza oven in the kitchen. It definitely adds to the atmosphere.
Value for Money: 4.2/5
For the quality of the food, the pricing is fair. While the service can be hit or miss, the food quality makes it worth the stop. If the owner could find a way to keep the service more consistent, it would be a 4.8+.
It was VERY busy which obviously shows that its popular bc of the food. Wait time wasnt terrible.
The kids meal deal is fantastic (looks like not updated). It is $8 (or was it $7?) for slice of pizza (cheese or pepporoni) or one more choice… can’t remember! And they get a drink and a tiny toy.
$7 house blonde beers!
Service can be a little slow with it being busy, but otherwise is good.
When we walked in to place a takeout order, we were completely ignored by two employees who were standing at the counter. After placing the order, we waited about 40 minutes for our pizza. When we finally received our pizza, it wasn’t hot, which suggested they had forgotten about it.
To make matters worse, when we had tried to get an update on the order, we were once again ignored by the same two employees. As two Hispanics in a predominantly different demographic, it was hard not to feel like the lack of attention was intentional.
While the pizza itself was fine, the service was horrendous, and I’m not sure I’ll be returning anytime soon. There are far better places with both good food and respect for their customers.
