Petit Paris exceeded all our expectations. We started with the mushroom soup and the onion soup, and both were absolutely amazing—rich, and full of flavor.

For the main course, we ordered the steak, which was really good and perfectly cooked. However, the biggest surprise of the evening was the beef bourguignon stew. It was more than delicious—tender, deeply flavorful, and truly outstanding. Easily the highlight of the meal.

To finish, we had the vanilla crème brûlée for dessert, and it was the best we’ve ever tried. Perfectly creamy with a beautifully caramelized top.

From start to finish, everything was exceptional. Petit Paris is a must-visit, and we will definitely be coming back. Lastly not to forget the waiter was really professional and nice while always being available to help with any questions.

had French food here today and the service was excellent. The staff were very attentive and genuinely cared about whether we were enjoying the food. The escargots as a starter were highly recommended, and the desserts were also delicious. The dining atmosphere was very pleasant and comfortable. Overall, a great experience.

Lovely French restaurant. The 12–5pm set menu is great value for money and everything we tried was delicious. What I liked most was the staff! She was so friendly and efficient, which made the whole experience even better.

We stopped by Petit Paris for dinner after noticing its great rating on Google Maps — and it didn’t disappoint!
The restaurant felt cozy and welcoming, with a lovely homely atmosphere. We were greeted by a very charismatic waiter — probably French, judging by how effortlessly natural his French sounded.

We ordered the French onion soup and a pot of mussels in blue cheese sauce. I have to say — these were some of the best, most flavorful mussels I’ve ever had! The soup was rich, comforting, and perfect for a chilly evening.

✨ Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for authentic flavors and warm service.

It’s a pretty small restaurant, so I’d recommend making a reservation. The tables are packed pretty close together, so it can be a bit tricky to get in and out of your seat. The ventilation isn’t great either — the whole place smells like the kitchen, and you kind of take the smell with you when you leave.

The food was okay overall. The bread that came with the escargot wasn’t toasted and tasted pretty bland. My steak was more medium than medium rare, but the mussels were good — nice creamy, cheesy flavor. The French onion soup was just okay too; the cheese wasn’t really melted, not flavourful and the bread in it was plain.

A nice find in a very touristy area. If you are looking for a nice reasonably priced meal – this is a good spot. We found the meal specials the way to go for the price. We had a large group and everyone was pleasantly surprised.

We were really excited to eat here because it was a very cold day and we were in the mood for French onion soup. Unfortunately, this French onion soup fell short. The escargot was ok. The house white wine was not my favorite either. The staff was polite.

Intimate cafe in the Grassmarket. My husband and I stopped in for a late lunch on a weekday in September, and it was the perfect antidote after the crowded hubbub of visiting the castle. The pris fixe lunch menu had good options and was well portioned. We left feeling well satisfied and ready for more sightseeing. We did not have reservations and they had no trouble seating us, but easy to see it could get very busy.

The terrine was delicious. The steak with pepper sauce was really good. The chicken breast was pretty plain but the blue cheese sauce was delicious. House wine is good. Service was excellent. It’s a small cramped space – just like a Paris bistro should be!

Nice little place but the special I had didn’t even come with any veg which I would’ve expected. Only filtered coffee too which was not great at all. Staff were friendly & welcoming though. Mushroom soup was delicious!
