The Yelp check-in situation is its own mini-game. Sometimes they don’t turn on the online waitlist until after they seat the first wave, so even if wait, you may end up with a one-hour-plus wait.
Once you’re in, though, the service is great. The wait staff is super attentive, although the hostess could be nicer. The servings and cuts of meat are small, so order higher quantities up front since you’re only allowed five different items per menu section at a time. S’mores dessert included.
On the plus side, grilling is a joy here; the built-in smoke vacuum is clutch and you won’t leave smelling like a yakiniku campfire.
I wouldn’t recommend the cocktails as the ones we got were very sweet and syrupy and did not seem to have alcohol but you can’t go wrong with their ice cold pitchers of beer and sake.
The service was lightning-fast, and our server was incredibly nice, giving us the perfect recommendations on what to order. If you’re going, get the most premium All-You-Can-Eat package. It’s the only way to go because you get the absolute best of the best they have to offer.
As a huge fan of Bulgogi, I can tell you the quality here is top-tier. It’s the perfect spot for anyone looking for 90 minutes of great food, cooking, and fun.
Pro tip: Definitely save room for the strawberry ice cream at the end. I could barely finish everything we ordered, but it was so good I managed to get through it all.
Mmmm, already planning the trip back! Highly recommend
Can’t wait to go back
You have many different restaurant choices in Las Vegas for Korean barbecue and Japanese barbecue but you have to try 888 Japanese BBQ because I believe it is worth it.
The service was fantastic, the food came out fast, the only thing I miss from the Korean BBQ compared to Japanese barbecue are the sides that you get at a Korean BBQ.
We definitely enjoyed all of what we had ordered, including some of the sushi was pretty decent as well. They only have rolls, not the Nigiri sushi.
Keep in mind when you make a reservation you are will be notified by text message when your table is ready and you have 5 minutes to comply to the text message in person or you will lose your spot. You can make a call to the restaurant to be on the waiting list but you must be present when they text you.
The food was awesome, $45 for an all you can eat is standard. But for something of this quality, it is pretty mind blowing. The spicy miso was very rich and was great to balance my palate from all of the meat. I came in very skeptical of the quality of the Kobe due to the price but I was not disappointed. Granted it isn’t the same as Kobe in Japan, but for being in the states it is a very good cut at this price. Crazy thing is I didn’t even try the sushi either, I feel that the value you get for the food is one of the best. And I must recommend the Kobe beef carpaccio. And I will reiterate once more that I MUST recommend the Kobe beef carpaccio. Yes it was that good. It is something you really must experience for yourself. All of the items marked with the red circle are limited at 1 serving per guest, but is is all the very premium cuts so that’s understandable.
Ambiance was great, mood lighting the charcoal grills and one detail we very much enjoyed was the choice of birthday song, in da club – 50 cent.
Hands down genuinely one of the greatest restaurant experiences I’ve had. I just simply do not give restaurants 5 stars unless they are perfect, but 888 really did impress me.
Am planning on making another trip back to Vegas strictly for the food and this will be on the list for sure!
That said, there were a couple of small things that could be improved. The reservation process felt a bit confusing and more complicated than it needed to be. Also, I was a bit surprised to see the meat being cut with regular scissors—it worked fine, but it took away a bit from the otherwise high-end feel of the meal.
Still, the food and service were fantastic overall, and I’d happily come back again. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates great Japanese BBQ!
