We are a classic American steak house located in Montrose Colorado, providing upscale dining to casual people. We believe that everyone deserves to have a great dining experience, so please come as you are and enjoy our great selection of steaks, seafood, pasta, salads and desserts. The Stone House opened the doors in December 2008 as a family owned restaurant and has been serving the local and tourist market proudly ever since. The Stone House restaurant today is a beautiful stone and wood building located on Highway 550 across from Walmart, but it started as an old ’50s style diner that looked like a metal trailer. We invite you to join us for lunch, dinner or for our Sunday breakfast buffet or let us cater your next big event / Wedding

Spectacular Friday Night.
I often whine about the restaurants in Montrose having license plates on the walls, and I’d like a nice, quiet place with a touch of class.
The Stone House absolutely delivered!
wonderful ambiance, not super loud music, nice staff
I keep forgetting to come back, its a mistake.
Prime Rib on Friday, a perfectly cooked medium rare, flavor spot-on. Vegetables were perfect, light crunch, not mush, flavorful as could be.
Wait staff? friendly, smiling, nice, and not “fakey fakey” but truly seemed to be in a good mood and making the evening great.
I’m thrilled, highly recommend.. Will return often.

I visited this restaurant a few months ago. I found the atmosphere was nice and cozy, The service was excellent but the food in my opinion was okay.
I ordered the filet mignon and found it to be a bit tougher than I like, the mashed potatoes and vegetables were very salty. I ordered ice cream for desert and found it tasted freezer burnt.
My lunch companion ordered a healthy chicken salad and soup and he enjoyed.

We celebrated our 19th anniversary here and this place didn’t disappoint. Very cozy atmosphere, food was delicious, waitress was great, and they treated us for dessert on the house! I would definitely recommend, thank you!

The Artichoke cheese dip is warm and wonderful, the Thai pasta was slightly sweet, slightly spicy but perfect, the avacado rolls were warm and crispy, the sirloin had a very good flavor, the prime rib was tender and cooked a little longer than we expected it to be. It was loud but we could hear each other, and a very nice evening supper.

The photo is what they call “fried calamari” – unsure what it was actually. It was very bland.
My wife got a steak…overcooked. I got the burger which was very mediocre.
It also took an hour for our main course to come out as well…our waitress was nice at least….
We will not be coming back

Cool ambiance outside and in. Service was excellent and it’s a warm interior providing cozy vibes on those cold days especially if you’re seated next to the fireplace. We ordered the 12 oz New York Strip which was cooked nicely, just wish there was a little more of a flavour profile but that’s personal preference. The strawberry cheesecake was phenomenal. A great place to stop and grab a bite to eat.
