This is a great place with a dog-friendly patio! The staff were friendly and the food was good. The 3 of us each ordered hamburgers that came out thick and juicy. The fries could have been fried a little longer for my taste but I loved that they seasoned them with black pepper.

Enjoyed our dinner in the construction zone. We tried the patio first but it was loud and covered in dust.
Not a fancy place but the food was good. We had the Catfish Dinner and Fish Tacos. I put some house-made salsa on the tacos and it was delish.
Our server, bless her heart, was sweet as can be however everything other than the basic order was forgotten. Since she was working solo, it was hard to get a second try. Oh well.

Don’t let the 3 fool you, this is not a michelin starred resto in NYC. For Clayton, it’s great, indoor and outdoor seating, friendly service, decent menu options.

The food was ok. I had the fish and the batter can use some seasoning. My wife had the steak and it was tough. The staff was polite and great.

Man, I REALLY wanted to like this place. They’ve got an adorable restaurant, super sweet staff, and a great vibe. Unfortunately, I ordered a medium steak for takeout and I got well done shoe leather.

Just stopped in here as we were staying at the nearby RV campground. Absolutely delicious. Best HUGE steak ever and delicious fried catfish. So much better than expected!

The 87 Burrito is obviously named after the restaurant itself and definitely deserved to be so. Wonderful flavor and good portions. The servers here are very efficient and friendly and the atmosphere is Stage Stop West: Western art, old wood interior construction, and an outdoor patio complete with an old Winnebago and antique cars for decorations in addition to lots of highway signs. It looks like a great place for winter meals on the patio, too, with a fire pit and propane, stand-alone heaters.

We stopped by 87 Restaurant during a long road trip, and it turned out to be a hidden gem! The location is excellent right on South 1st Street making it a perfect and convenient pit stop for anyone traveling through the area. Inside, the atmosphere is incredibly cozy and welcoming, capturing that charming small-town hospitality. The service was top-notch; we were greeted with a smile and served promptly, even though the place was quite busy. The food was fresh, the portions were very generous, and it offers great value for money. It is an ideal spot for anyone looking for a delicious meal in a pleasant environment to recharge before hitting the road again. If you are passing through Clayton, this place is a must-visit!

2/6/25-When I stopped for the night the guy at my hotel recommended this place. It had classic American food. I ordered the catfish which came with fries and slaw. I would say that the volume to price was ok. The problem was how greasy the fish was. They really needed to dry the fish on paper towels or something. The batter had a good flavor, but just way too much grease. I actually could not finish my fish because of how greasy it was and I would not recommending this dish if you do not have a gallbladder. The server was nice.

We ate on the outside area. Great music in the background. Came for drinks and an appetizer. My ultimate Bloody Mary was a meal. The Nachos Supreme we only ate half and had leftovers.
