I went in to enjoy some french onion soup. They used croutons instead of bread, and I was very pleased. It made the garlicky taste pop. I definitely recommend this place for the quality french onion soup, my server Jackie is a rock star too

Honestly this was my first time back to el rodeo in over 11 years. I’ve never seen this in my entire 41 years, their tacos are served using pre made hard taco shells. The kind I can get at the grocery store. They don’t offer shredded beef so the ground beef was exactly like you’d get at Taco Bell but three times the price. Rice and beans were good. Tacos came with lettuce and cheese. No sour cream, no guac, no salsa. Completely dry. First basket of chips is free but any additional is $2. Which, it’s a generous size basket but I guess them nickel and diming you is where they’re paying for the remodel from. I will say my son’s carne asada was really good and my husband said the enchilada was also very good. Their house salsa was OK but it was heavy on the ancho flavor. For a family of 4 wasn’t worth $100. Out of my 3 tacos I didn’t even eat one and the waiter asked if I wanted a box and I said no, I didn’t like my tacos that’s why I didn’t eat them and he said ok and gave the bill. No offer to remove the charge or offer of a single thing which would have been good customer service. Small gestures like that go a long way. Oh well.

Pretty good place, I had Chicken Fajitas and my honey had the deluxe burrito. The chicken was flavored just right and not dry.

El Rodeo is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in town. The queso is awesome! They have a huge menu with all the great traditional Mexican favorites. They also have delicious margaritas and a large margarita menu that will certainly have your favorite flavor! The staff is always friendly and they have super yummy salsa! The lunch menu is good because you get the same portion basically as the dinner for a better price!

It was good! Staff was nice. Food was yummy. Portions a little small. It was a busy night so drinks didn’t get filled up. I would go again to give them another shot.

So much better than El Coporal. Here visiting from So. Tucson, home of authentic Hispanic cuisine. This establishment operating since 1999, has really good dishes to choose from. Didn’t try the Mole as I had it for the last 2 nights .
Dam close to the quality of Tucson!
The Rodeo Burro is extremely flavorful with picadillo and a side of spicy refried beans. The picadillo consists of shredded spicy sautéed beef similar to Birria.
The rice has a warm moist flavor with real shredded Cheddar cheese on beans and the Burrito.
We had Gordito as our server, very knowledgeable as he’s from Mexico City with a strong knowledge of Mexican cuisine. Very efficient and excellent waiter!
The owner visits each table asking for your opinion and thanking you for your patronage.
Quick attentive service with follow up communication.
An unbelievable amount of free parking.
Full service bar open for Happy Hours in a separate Lounge with dedicated entrance!

The drinks and food are extremely watered down. Neither the cooking nor the serving staff really care about the quality or the taste of food. Kinda sad. The chicken buggets we got for our son were so bad, I am not sure what they were made of- horns and hooves?. I think the frozen microwaved stuff from grocery store is way better quality than the food that is served here. Fake potato fries also. I mean worse than McDonalds. Dont recommend.

We knew this place would be good when we had to wait for a parking spot! That’s usually a good sign.
Only criticism is that our appetizer was served with our main course, so it was a lot of food dropped all at once and it was harder to enjoy the sample platter offerings with my fajitas already in front of me.
However, having said that, the food was as expected. Tasty and excellent portion sizes. My wife is veggie and she appreciated properly cooked vegetables, still some crunch!
