This restaurant and location is one of my favorites in Pittsburgh. They never disappoint! Great service and absolutely delicious food. I took my 9 year old niece today and we ordered a little bit of everything and she had a blast! The Gobi Manchurian and vegetable dosa were her favorite, followed by chicken tikka masala and the mango lassi. Garlic naan beat the butter or onion but seriously all are amazing. And the staff was so kind and attentive! Such a great experience, thank you

Went here for a birthday dinner and it couldn’t have been a better choice! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance felt warm and inviting. The staff was incredibly attentive and even made sure to wish me a happy birthday, which was a lovely touch.
The food was absolutely delicious — bursting with authentic South Indian flavors. We tried the masala dosa, chicken chettinad, and ghee roast, and each dish was spot on. The filter coffee at the end was the perfect finish.
What made it extra special was the care and service — they made the evening feel personal and celebratory. Highly recommend this spot whether you’re celebrating something or just craving amazing South Indian food. Will definitely be back!

I recently dined at Tamarind Greentree, located in Greentree, PA, and was thoroughly impressed by the entire experience. The restaurant offers a cozy and traditional ambiance, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere perfect for a relaxed meal.
I started with the Tandoori Chicken Wings, which were perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. The wings had just the right amount of spice, making them a delightful start to the meal. For the main course, I had the Goat Biryani. The biryani was aromatic and richly flavored, with tender pieces of goat that made every bite enjoyable. The balance of spices was spot on, and the dish truly showcased the depth of Indian cuisine.
The service at Tamarind Greentree was exceptional. The staff were not only friendly and welcoming but also highly knowledgeable about the menu. They made excellent recommendations and ensured that our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable from start to finish.
As for the pricing, I found it to be very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and service. It’s always a plus when you feel like you’ve gotten great value for your money.

PA health department must do inspections at this restaurant. I ordered lemon rice and nothing on the side either chutney or tomato chutney like that, I do fasting on Saturdays and even I eat this food after 12am ..unfortunately nothing on the side. I asked her, she said it doesn’t come noting just rice. They usually give side chutney or any other chutneys type. When I called n placed the order bad service and they way receive the calls. This is not the first time and it happened many times. This is final I m done ✅ and no way I gonna over there They way receive the calls and customers very bad service. Another experience, I ordered goat curry and I got home ready eat after 30mins. It was spoiled and bad smell. I called them, they said simply sorry. That’s it. I wasted almost $20 for nothing.

Best Indian food in Pittsburgh by a mile. We often order Tamarind delivery and thoroughly enjoy it. Finally decided to eat at the restaurant and the Food was even better!! Service was welcoming and so kind. Phenomenal experience… we will definitely be back.

We hosted a graduation party at Fairview Park Rotary Pavilion on July 26th, 2025, and were absolutely thrilled with the food experience! The highlight was the live stations — they were a big hit with all our guests.
Appetizer Live Station: Chicken 65, Fish Fry, and Dragon Paneer — all hot, flavorful, and freshly served.
Dosa Station: A great variety including Plain, Ghee, Podi, Masala, Onion, Chocolate, and Nutella — the kids especially loved the sweet options! and something for everyone!
Fried Rice Station: Egg, Veg, and Chicken varieties — well-cooked and seasoned to perfection.
The main entrees (Naan, Goat Masala, and Butter Chicken) were equally delicious, rich in taste, and served generously. We ended on a sweet note with hot Gulab Jamun and the standout Thiruvannamalai Halwa, which was a rare and delightful treat.
We also made sure the kids were taken care of with a tray of Mac & Cheese, which they loved.
Every single guest complimented the food and the engaging live setup. The team was professional, the food quality was top-notch, and everything was well-organized. Highly recommended for any special occasion!

We ordered food from Tamarind Greentree for our New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day celebration and it was absolutely delicious! The karam podi gobi, kodi vepudu, veg kurma, and chicken kurma were all packed with flavor and we all enjoyed it to the very last bite! Special shoutout to the tasty amazing kodi vepudu!
