Update: We returned for a late lunch today. Another spectacular meal. Bobby (aka Steven ) was our wonderful server. His timing and service are impeccable and he makes you feel like a welcome guest. I especially appreciated him packaging up my leftovers for me. The best service! We both had half-rack ribs, beans, mashed, veggie mixture (amazing – so good see close up pic). All the food was perfectly cooked, fresh real flavorful high quality ingredients, low in salt, high in delicious flavor. The chef here has an exceptional gift for balancing flavors and creating satisfying meals that are perfection on the tongue. This time we took a piece of apple pie to go. We are expecting more deliciousness later! Last night’s cheesecake was really good – light fluffy rich creamy and not overly sweet. The graham cracker crust was perfection with all that creaminess in the filling.
Seriously – try this restaurant. The Grill is well worth the stop if you are passing through, and a “must visit” if you are staying in Lone Pine.
Sorry for the partially eaten food pics, I got so busy eating I almost forgot to take pics again!

For Lone Pine this was a surprisingly good find. Best dinner we have ever had in this town. I didn’t take a lot of photos – sorry – next time.
I had the pork chops with rosemary gravy – amazing! Delicious. Perfectly cooked. Side veggies and mashed were also very good. Hubby had roasted chicken with beans and mashed – also very good. Skin crisp, chicken juicy. Perfect amount of seasoning on all the food. Excellent dinner. Tomato soup was very good too. Nice wine/beer selection at reasonable prices. We took a piece of house made cheesecake to-go. Have not tried yet, but expecting deliciousness. Service was warm and efficient. Venue is open and bright, indoor or outdoor seating, beautiful mountain views – and somehow you cannot hear the traffic outside! Magic! A delightful relaxing delicious meal. Try this place, you will be very glad you stopped in.

Wonderful experience…! Loved the warmth of the place, people and mostly the food…! Healthy ingredients and homely recipes…! Very charismatic owner called Saloua and a charming Jerry waits tables with Bobby..! Would love to come here if destiny brings us here again..!

Great options for everyone in our group including vegans. One vegan had the vegan burger on lettuce wrap (because buns are not vegan) and the other had the quinoa salad. The food was good and service was very helpful. Highlight for everyone were the tasty fries! We would go back!

Large menu, great food! Came here to grab some food after climbing Mt. Whitney and I enjoyed every bite. My waitress was very polite and friendly, very attentive and always made sure my drink was full. Located right down town Lone Pine and plenty of parking. I highly recommend “The Grill”

We ordered the vegan Beyond burger with fries and really enjoyed it. It’s great to have a place in Lone Pine that offers solid vegan options, especially before heading out on the trails. The waitress was friendly as well, which made the stop even better.

The Caesar salad was very fresh and super yummy, while my boyfriend enjoyed the Turkey club and fries. The hot apple pie à la mode was delicious, but the star of the show was our server, Jerri! What a sweetheart, and an huge asset to this restaurant!

I visited The Grill in Lone Pine recently, and unfortunately, it was a truly disappointing experience. I ordered a ribeye steak, medium-rare. After what felt like an unusually long wait, I let the waitress know I had to quickly unplug my car at the supercharger across the street and park it. When I returned, the steak was finally served, but the meal was a disaster: the steak was well-done, and the sides were raw. The meat seemed like it hadn’t been defrosted properly, as it was half-boiled in some parts. Clearly, the kitchen lacks basic cooking skills.
When I politely asked the waitress to cancel the steak, she took the plate and loudly smashed it into the trash, causing other customers to look startled. She even admitted she “wanted to smash the plate.” Feeling unsafe by this aggressive behavior, I decided to leave. When I mentioned the steak was overcooked, she blamed me for moving my car, saying that’s why the steak overcooked—but she never warned me it was ready.
I cannot recommend this place to anyone looking for decent food or service. If you’re just after some French fries, maybe you’ll be okay, but otherwise, this is one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had, and I’ve lived in Paris for 13 years. The service was incredibly aggressive, and the food was inedible. I hope management takes notice and reconsiders who’s running this place…

Stopped here on our way back from Mammoth. We are actually looking for an old diner that my mom remembered from back in the day which no longer exists and this looked like a good bet. And it sure was! Really fun diner atmosphere, the owner’s son came out and chatted with us, and our waitress,Karyme, was absolutely adorable. Make sure to stop by when you’re going through lone Pine.
