Very clean, welcoming and friendly spot with fabulous food. The ribs were so that I didn’t even get to take a pic but there are plenty of food pics here. I’m just going to say it’s a must try if you are in the area, we will definitely be going back soon. I’ll try to not eat it all up before taking a pic next time

I came to this restaurant as I seen it won an award on Dallas Observer for the best chicken wings. The establishment is quaint but I came here for the food. I ordered a 3 meat plate and the food came out before I had a chance to sit down. They also give generous portion for what you ordered. As for the wings…they were delicious! The chicken drummetes are bigger than expected and melts in your mouth as you eat them. They are smoked instead of traditional fried wings. Only complaint I have is that they are a little spicy for me but maybe others would enjoy more. I’d definitely come back when I’m in the area. 5/5

One of the best BBQ spots in Dallas — hands down. I stopped by Baby Back Shak for a late lunch and was blown away by both the food and the atmosphere.
I started with two Cajun Boudain sticks that were packed with flavor and perfectly crisp, paired with their signature BBQ sauce. For my main course, I had the brisket plate with green beans and corn on the side, plus two slices of bread and a generous portion of extra sauce. Everything was hot, tender, and seasoned to perfection.
I also had an ice-cold punch that hit the spot and finished with a slice of their pineapple pound cake — sweet, soft, and the perfect way to wrap up the meal.
The vibe inside is warm, authentic, and full of personality, with eye-catching art, neon signs, and a laid-back feel that makes you want to stay awhile.
If you’re in Dallas and love real, soulful BBQ — Baby Back Shak is a must-visit.

I ordered the 1/2 rack with Shak beans and potato salad. I’m going to say this first. I think it should be highly considered describing the food items on the menu. The ribs were good. Tender and with a lot of flavor. The beans are your typical Texas style baked bean, which is actually pinto beans, but they were good a well. The reason I gave 4/5c is because of the potato salad. I’m not sure who’s idea it is to put granny Smith apples in the potato salad but it is actually disgusting. Not an acquired tasted, but just nasty. The combination of what taste mostly like apple sauce, with the acidity of mustard and the hint of mayo… this recipe needs to be revamped, without the apples. I’ve never had, much less heard of apples in a potato salad. I would go again, but I’ll skip that side. Overall, the meal was decent.

For a little BBQ spot black owned it’s not too bad. I work near the place I go in on Thursday because he freshly barbecues and cook everything on Thursdays. I’ve only seen one woman working there she has a great personality she is very professional and friendly and she makes you want to come back. I really don’t know what her position is but a lot of times when I go in she’s working the cash register, but I think she does way more than that. She told me they’ve been in business for 26 years gave me a little history on the place great customer service. I got a two meat platter barbecue baked beans with ground beef in it and string beans with chicken in it then I got the brisket and some chicken.

The best part about this place is the cashier customer service hands down . The guy that bought my food out was sick he was blowing his nose and handing out orders very poor food handling skills he never said thanks to the customers . The lady at the register was very respectful like old days she said yes sir no sir but the kitchen need to get trained on food handling and customer service skills. I ordered a five meat plate but I refuse to eat when germs are been handed out and Noone see a problem with it .This place allow sick people to work around food and can’t even say thank you when passing out your food. I witnessed the same guy sit orders on tables and walk away and the lady comes from behind the counter and get bags and find the customers thats some BS .

I went here based off a recommendation and I was not disappointed. The ribs were tender and the portions were a decent size based off the money you paid. The ribs were flavorful and well seasoned. I can’t wait to come back here and try something else on the menu. I ordered online and the food was ready promptly when I arrived.

I live across the street and decided to eat here while some maintenance was being done inside my apartment. The lady at the register was very sweet and welcoming. I ordered a 1 meat baked potato with brisket and a medium punch . To my surprise it was only $14!! The best price I’ve ever paid at a BBQ place. My potato was so good and flavorful and the portion was huge. The place was very clean, not a crumb anywhere. I Highly recommend Baby Back Shak

I’m new to the DFW area. I’m funny about BBQ, but these guys got it right. The baked beans, the meats, the salad EVERYTHING is good. I come at least a few times out the month since it’s close to my job. Each time it gets better and better. They definitely made a lifetime customer with me.
