Delicious and super cute spot for brunch with friends or family. Service is super quick once you get your table; however, it does get a little crowded near the host stand, even if you have a reservation. Their popovers are a must have and their omelettes are super fresh. Would definitely come back again.

Sarabeth’s was packed and we didn’t have a reservation, but luckily there were seats at the bar and we were thrilled. The bar staff were so friendly and chatted with us while we tried our first-ever popovers. The food was fantastic. Our hotel recommended Sarabeth’s, and it’s easy to understand why.

We enjoyed a beautiful brunch at Sarabeth‘s while on a short weekend trip to New York City. The reservation process was quick and simple, and we were greeted cordially when we arrived. The ambience, decor, and lighting were all warm and welcoming. The noise level within the restaurant was just right… Enough to be lively and convivial, but still quiet enough to enjoy conversation with our dining partners. The food was delicious and exquisitely presented, and the service was friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. The variety of menu options was wonderful as well. There were plenty of sweet and savory offerings, and the green salad that accompanied many of the main brunch dishes was a refreshing addition to the meal. It was the perfect way to begin our day of sightseeing. I would definitely return to Sarabeth’s, and would recommend It without hesitation to others.

“Sarabeth’s is the best place for brunch on the UWS. Nothing else compares. All around great experience, from host, servers, and management.”

Sarabeth’s on the Upper West Side is a true NYC staple—perfect for brunch or breakfast classics.
We sat outside and ordered the crispy chicken sandwich with gouda, which was huge and packed with flavor. Served on ciabatta with arugula and jam, it hit every taste bud—the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The fries on the side were crispy and delicious. We also had the spinach and cheese omelette—super fluffy eggs, light and right.
Always a reliable go-to for a satisfying brunch.

Once upon a time, Sarabeth’s was the place to go — a New York brunch institution known for consistency, warmth, and food that justified both the wait and the price. It built its reputation on being dependable and polished, the kind of place you confidently recommended to out-of-town guests.
Unfortunately, that reputation no longer holds.
What Manhattan restaurant waits until after you’ve finished your meal to inform you that their credit card machine is down, they only accept cash, and they can’t provide a receipt? For a brand that once prided itself on professionalism, this was shocking.
The food took a long time to arrive, and when it did, it was underwhelming. Eggs Benedict used to be a safe bet here — a dish Sarabeth’s helped popularize — but that’s no longer the case.
Our waiter, Issie, was okay, though it was surprising to be told that a 20% gratuity was automatically included, without any prior notice.
The ambiance feels dated in a way that reads neglected rather than nostalgic. The bathrooms, in particular, looked like they hadn’t been properly cleaned since the early 2000s.
Sarabeth’s seems to be coasting on its name and past glory. For longtime customers, that’s the most disappointing part.

This is a great place to have brunch on the weekends and enjoy it with family or friends.
The dishes are well served and very tasty, the recipe for the riccota lemon pancakes is a bit different than the first time I tried them, maybe less moist, but still good flavor. About the place, it is a classic NY place, however, they could take better care of the bathrooms.
The attention and service of the waiter who served us stands out; very friendly and willing to answer questions and make recommendations (essential when you have children with you).
In general, a pleasant experience.

This was a wonderful early dinner on a snowy holiday night we had wonderful service from the young lady at the bar ended up eating a full meal there with her and she paid attention to every detail of our cocktails and our order. Tbt steak frites was cooked perfectly and my salad she made sure to ask if I wanted everything in it or to exclude anything. She also took my to go order and times it perfectly to still be hot for my son when I got home and packed items separately to preserve the roll. I think she made the night the 5 stars! Would 100% go back! Great for combo of adults and kids especially kids that like steak frites and truffle fries!

Sarabeth’s Upper West Side serves up a great breakfast. The menu has the usual suspects for an American style breakfast. Omelettes packed with cheese along with vegetables and meats depending on the order. Service courteous and prompt. If your cell phone isn’t working, you can make a call from the pay phone in the basement. Do have some gluten free options.
