I came here on a chilly night with my friend. The place was really vibey. Service was fast but nice and friendly. There was only street parking, but thankfully it wasn’t crowded when we go there. I got their “Mex-Cali Lettuce Wrap” which consists of Vegan Chipotle Sausage wrapped in Romaine with guacamole, pico de Gallo & chipotle mayo ($13.71 with tax). I didn’t choose their typical hot dog style since I’m trying to eat healthier, but the lettuce wrap was still pretty good! The vegan sausage had a unique yet tasty flavor to it. The sauces in the wrap also added a lot of zest which is something I really liked. The only downside is that I feel like the wrap should’ve been a bit bigger for the price. Aside from that, a pretty chill place to come by if you’re craving hot dogs!

Dat Dog was one of the most fun and colorful food stops I had in New Orleans. The place is bright, loud, and full of personality — it instantly feels upbeat and energetic.

I ordered one of their loaded hot dogs, and it was packed with bold flavors and creative toppings. The sausage had a great snap, and the combination of sauces and add-ons made every bite interesting. It’s messy in the best way possible.

Overall, Dat Dog is all about big flavors and good vibes. It’s casual, playful, and perfect when you want something indulgent and uniquely New Orleans.

I stopped in for a burger. I ordered the Dat Burger with tater tots. There were around 12 people in the restaurant. It took 17 minutes for my order to be ready. They brought it out to me. The attached pic is how I received it. I got a handful of tater tots that had an odd flavor to them. The burger was cooked to a crisp and lukewarm. The cheese on top was cold, no lettuce, just onions, ketchup and mustard. I was very disappointed in the flavor and the 17 minute wait time.
The outdoor seating was nice.

Worth every bit of my $$$. Ordered the alligator dog with relish, blackberry sauce, grilled onions and BBQ sauce and it didn’t disappoint..the saugasage was fresh, hot and crisp. All the other ingredients were fresh and savory.
The attendant wasn’t that friendly but sadly, these days, its hard to find enthusiastic workers..
I’ll be back to try more options!

This was a really fun place to eat at! The Flying Pig was the perfect balance of cheese, sausage, bacon and onion! The flavors were simply amazing. My wife got the Mediterranean Salad with Alligator Sausage and loved it. Friendly staff! If you’re not familiar with the area, there’s not a dedicated parking lot so be ready to find parking, but it’s worth it!

It’s a pretty good hot dog. You’re paying for the vibe of the place and the area as much as the food, but that’s OK. It’s not ridiculous. Cold water was self serve and complimentary and it seemed to be dog friendly, but maybe confirm that with staff. I also appreciated the variety of different programming on their tvs. Something for everyone if you have a TV watcher in your group. There is an air conditioned dining area and an outdoor dining area as well as pretty good restrooms.

We went to Dat Dog recently as a large group to work on a group project. It was the perfect spot for that! Their outdoor area is lovely. There are a million different combinations you can make to build your perfect hotdog, and the fries are just perfect. Would highly recommend as a quick lunch or a group hangout!

Ordered deliver from here and the food was awful. The tots taste like stale bitter oil. The hot dog barely had any chili on it and was burnt. Won’t be back. They’ve really gone downhill

Dat Dog delivers a fun and lively atmosphere with a wide variety of unique hot dogs on the menu. I tried the alligator hot dog and a regular one; both were good but didn’t quite hit the mark of greatness. While the flavors were interesting, they lacked that special something to make them truly memorable. On the plus side, the service was efficient, with our order arriving in about 5 minutes. Overall, Dat Dog is a solid spot for a quick and enjoyable meal, though the hot dogs could use a bit more pizzazz to stand out.

Hot Dogs reimagined. If you love having options, then this is the place for you. Don’t eat beef or pork (like me)? No problem! They have chicken, vegan and pescatarian options as well. Best of all, you don’t miss out on flavors with the “alternatives”. My brother is a pretty big meat eater. He tried my vegan plate and really liked it. Don’t want a hot dog? No problem! They have burgers and fries and beers. We will def be bringing family members here whenever they come to visit.
This particular location is great if you want to avoid the more populated French Quarter and Magazine locations. Street parking is pretty easy to find (we went on a Sunday afternoon). There’s both indoor and outdoor dining options.
