Mixed feelings. Got there at 7pm on a Tuesday to try a new place.
The Good: corner downtown location. Trivia offered. Friendly staff. Good sweet tea. (Husband liked the Dr. Robot draft beer)
The bad: bathroom door to women’s restroom propped open with 4 beer buckets catching leaks? One of the 2 inside bathroom doors wouldn’t lock. Spinach dips and cheese dips weren’t hot but chips were ok. Cheese sticks and poppers just average. Chicken tenders wouldn’t even finish one to eat (hard, colder and not a good taste).

Might go back for trivia and give something else a try but not impressed with the food. (Side note: if you like Pokémon Go, then you can easily reach 5 stops while sitting there.)

I keep coming back here, and it’s because the food is just that good. Their burger menu is one of the most creative I’ve seen. They’ve got a Jalapeño Popper Burger, a Thousand Island Burger (the one I had last night), a Mozzarella Burger, and even something called the Presley Firecracker Burger I’m looking forward to trying. These aren’t your typical “lettuce, tomato, pickle” burgers — they’re big, unique, and full of flavor.

My Thousand Island Burger last night was excellent. Honestly, it was almost too big to fit in my mouth — I ended up eating it with a fork, and that’s not a complaint. The French fries are solid too — not just filler, but good quality and thoughtful.

And I can’t forget the appetizer: fried green tomatoes. Every time I come here, I have to order them. Crispy, flavorful, and easily one of my favorite parts of the meal.

Now, it is a bar, and normally that’s not my scene since I don’t drink much. But the atmosphere last night with the football game on was great — lively, fun, but not overbearing.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4 out of 5)
Creative burgers you can’t get anywhere else, great appetizers, and an atmosphere that makes it easy to keep coming back.

My wife and I have been regularly eating at Irish Bred Pub for about 8 years. Three times a month because it was a great place to go….
We went there tonight, my wife wanted a soup and salad, they said “they were out of lettuce”.
I ordered my usual Fish and Chips. Our food came out and my ” usual” was not usual anymore. The fish was half the size and my sides came in small Styrofoam containers with a plastic fork. It cost us about $40 for the food served in Styrofoam cups with plastic utensils. What has happened to our favorite spot on the square? If you’re going to cheap out on the service and even the utensils, please charge less. You have lost our weekly business and I have lost one of my favorite places to eat. Please do better.

Where do I start……we had been going to this place for a little over a year. My wife and I like their BLTA and the beer was cheaper than surrounding venues. Old building, kind of a cool vibe. Everything was fine until about 6 months ago. We overheard a conversation concerning employees not getting paid. Our service and food started to decline at this point. We always ordered side salads along with our sandwich and some of the lettuce was coming consistently brown. Sandwich was good but the waitresses we liked were no longer there and the waitress we got was pretty lame. Never checked on us, no personality.

The last time we went, the salad again had a bunch of brown lettuce. The bathroom was out of order and there was a disabled customer that rolled up in her wheelchair right next to us and proceeded to cough up phlegm throughout our meal. I felt bad for her, but not very appetizing, to say the least. We weren’t gonna go back for a while but decided to go tonight. We walked in, the hostess seated us and asked what we wanted to drink. We ordered two drinks and sat down. 10 minutes later, no drinks and no one to be found. We just left. Bummer, definitely not a good place anymore. We won’t be going back anytime soon.

They need a real, adult manager here, not just college kids. We tried to eat here today but waited around 40 minutes without any food brought out (also no drink refills or acknowledgement of the wait in that time). Once the first course did come, it was impossible to eat without silverware, which they also couldn’t bring to the table in a timely manner. We had to leave and go to another restaurant on the square.

The young people there are perfectly friendly, but they need help with the basic mechanics of running a restaurant.

A patron for this business for 10 years ..today jam 5th walked in at 1 pm …no one in the dining room
Music blaring, 3 tables that needed to be cleared …waitress served our beverage…and THAT WAS IT.
We left a $5 bill for our tea to STILL seeing no employees. We left and I called the restaurant back and the girl answering the phone said the manager “was busy” …we’re asking Alfonso the owner to please get a handle on this favorite of ours

Great pub in downtown Carrollton. Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon, we were warmly greeted and quickly seated.
Very friendly server was welcoming and efficient. We love the overall vibe of this place. The bar appears to have an incredible selection of any libation you want.
We stayed true to the Irish theme and ordered the fish and chips and Shepard’s Pie.
You could tell they were fresh made, and the pie was made to order.
We camp at John Tanner Park, and will add Irish Bred to our rotation of local restaurants in Carrollton. You know what, you should too.
Highly recommended.

I went there and ordered a Shannon salad. Waited a long time to finally receive a salmon salad. Server said sorry I can put in new order but it will be a while because they were busy. Manager gave us a small discount. I was very unhappy with this service!

Such a fun place to grab a meal on the square. It could use a little updating inside BUT I think that is what gives it character. We ate here in the late Fall so we were able to eat outside on the balcony. The food was great and our service was excellent. We will be back for sure.

Stopped in on a Friday night around 10pm to have a few drinks. The place wasn’t very busy but we sat at our table for 20min and were never waited on. Instead, the waitress was too busy flirting with some guy. Been here before, during the afternoon, and never had a problem.
