Good food and great service, definitely worth a visit. Proper definition of food with a view. It got much busier later in the evening so keep that in mind. Lastly, I did think the food was on the smaller side, so you might want to request extra amounts if visiting while starving.

Very good food and service.
Enjoyed pickles and hush puppies to start.
Fried gator was delicious.
Only shame is you can’t have your catfish fillets done three ways.

We had an AMAZING experience here on our weekend trip! Miss Elena was not only so kind but she was very quick and on top of everything! She made a very personal impression and we will always remember her❤️ The food was amazing! The gator, grilled shrimp and catfish was all cooked to perfection. We will be back for our next trip!

On the day we came to Big Pines it was just day 2 of new ownership. Aside from taking a bit for the waitress to come to our table when we first sat down, it was a great experience. The coleslaw was so good. I ate the whole bowl myself! Their hush puppies were unique! We both ordered the catfish fillets and it was delicious. Great country music playing and we got there at the perfect time- as the lobby was full of folks when we left. We really enjoyed our meal and the ambiance!

Fries were too soft, but the burgers were good and quite large. Unfortunately they don’t ask how you want it cooked. One came out medium rare, the other well done. Sad little salad bar that they charge $9.99 for. Prices a little on the high side for the caliber of food and atmosphere but an enjoyable time was had here.

Interesting hush puppies are complementary, a bit on the sweet side with an occasional fleck of jalapeno for an interesting flavor without being spicy. Pretty greasy as are the fries, probably due to frying at too low a temperature.

Great place sitting on the river, couldn’t aske for a better view to eat by. Food was excellent catfish, Shrimp, homemade onion rings, blackened catfish excellent. The kids loved their kids pizzas. Our server was excellent took great care of us and kept all of our drinks full even though they were super busy. Will definitely be back!

Big Pines Lodge is the most beautiful restaurant on Caddo Lake! If you’re looking for unforgettable waterfront dining, this place is a must-visit. The deck overlooking the bayou is absolutely stunning—perfect for a peaceful meal or enjoying the view with friends.

The portions are generous—easily enough for two people. The crispy fries are made from real potatoes, and the “little” chicken fried steak? It’s a monster! I got two full meals out of it. The salad bar is a rare gem in this area, especially when fresh veggies can be hard to find nearby—so appreciated!

The service is friendly and welcoming, and you can tell the new owners genuinely care about the experience and are building a great culture. Guests often just hang out, enjoy the atmosphere, and have a good time. They also host local live music, which they promote on their Facebook page, so keep an eye out if you’re planning a visit.

Whether you’re staying nearby or just passing through, Big Pines Lodge is a top spot for southern comfort food on Caddo Lake. Highly recommend!

Parking wasn’t that difficult even on a busy Sunday during Lunch hour. Walked in and was immediately greeted and sat down at a table by the host.
Amberlee, our waitress, was very attentive and helpful.
I was a little hesitant to order sweet tea, cuz let’s be honest, nobody makes it better than mama. I went out on a limb and ordered it anyway. Wasn’t made like mama’s, but it was delicious.
Me and my date ordered a four piece whole catfish dinner and a side of okra.
I liked the catfish, it tasted fine, however I didn’t like how they cut slits in the sides. If I would’ve known that then I would’ve just ordered the fillets.
The fries and okra were also good.
The hush puppies were big and sweet, Wish they had a little bit more of a jalapeño kick, but they were still good.
Overall, it was a good experience. Service was great and the view was very enjoyable, watching the boats pass by.
We’ll definitely be back.

Where do I begin. The customer service was terrible. It was crowded. They do not offer you a menu. You have to ask for one. The girl at the service desk with the big glasses and brown hair was very rude. I’m sure they could tell we were first-timers, and instead of being friendly, they made us feel very unwelcoming. We were waiting forever for our food and it was horrible. The fries were cold and soggy. The fish was barely warm. There was a burnt ball of something in one of the plates, which I knew, whoever fixed it, saw that or put it there on purpose. The portions were very small, not worth the time or money going to the place. This was our first and definitely the last time we will be visiting this establishment.

We ate at Big Pines Lodge and it was amazing!!! I have nothing but great things to say from the fried catfish to the fresh, hand dipped onion rings, etouffe, jalapeno hush puppies, relish tray, and the coleslaw…. OH MAN!!! The coleslaw. It is worth a special trip if you do not live in the area.
It is also family owned and operated by some great people who came out to check on everyone to make sure everything was perfect.
