Cilantro SF Taqueria is a excelent spot in North Beach for authentic and delicious Mexican food. The highlight is definitely the tacos, which are prepared simply and authentically—just great fish, onion, and cilantro on corn tortillas. A must-try is their Birria Tacos, which are consistently called “out of this world” and packed with flavor. If you’re looking for a larger meal, their Super Tacos and Super Burritos are also excellent, with generous portions and fresh ingredients.
It’s a no-frills, casual, and friendly eatery that delivers high quality and great value. Whether you’re a local or a visitor near Pier 39, Cilantro is the perfect place for a quick, satisfying, and truly “yummy” Mexican meal. The 5-star rating is well-deserved!

These tacos are life changing. Small cute shop on a street corner with authentic Mexican food. Their salsas go so well with the food. Burrito was loaded. Everything was exceptional and can’t wait to come back!

One of the rare taquerias where you actually want to sit and converse with friends—no dine and dash here. The engaging mural with playful blue-green Matisse patterns swirling around an orange castle-like structure entices; I also noticed the geometric patterns on the marble wall at the counter, a sign of thoughtful design.
We sat outside, enjoying live music drifting over from Sweetie’s jazz bar while eating a plain, simple burrito made delightful by the pico. We chatted about our friend’s small art exhibit at Sweeties; and no conversation amongst men is ever complete without talking about the war our nation finds ourselves in, followed by a trip to Trader Joe’s where I bought a premade Old Fashioned to use in a hot toddy for a scratchy throat. The concoction worked. I will be coming back to Cilantro.

Their garlic shrimp plate isn’t garlicky but loved the shrimp, you can see it looks dead spicy but it ain’t. It’s a good plate option with a lot of shrimp. Gauc was good but chips nooo low key not good salsa and cilantro sauce were spicy and tasty

This is an authentic Mexican restaurant. I ordered three super-sized tacos: beef, pork, and chicken. The tortillas were huge, and there was a lot of meat. I was full after just two!

Great Mexican food, walking distance from Pier 39! If you’re looking for Mexican food, skip the place at the Pier, walk a little (around 15 minutes or so, maybe quicker if you speed walk) and go to Cilantro! I ordered a lengua burrito and it was great! My family ordered nachos and a carnitas plate and they liked them as well.

To be very honest I was little disappointed for their food and service, as food taste just nothing special or actually less than Taco Bell. Not like other people say, the staff was surprisingly unfriendly. I rather coming to any other fast food.

The quesadilla was nice but frankly I expected a bit more in terms of the taste. The value for money was good, the interior was very basic, the staff were good. I can recommend this place as a reasonably priced place to get some quick bite in case you are hungry, maybe if you are aiming at enjoying some flavours you need to look for another place
