The restaurant is decent, attractive, menu ses good. Food is good but not stellar, with some very odd things (like prepackaged ranch dressing?) And very broken chips (really it was kinda weird)
Chips are definitely not fresh or warmed. Beans and rice are truck products.
The dishes themselves are pretty good. Solid average for east coast sit down “mexican”. Which, if you are from west of the Mississippi, is going to hurt you in the feels. Just a heads up.
The service was weird, though. It took us 6 tries tonorder as every time one of the waistaff came to take our order they had already turned around before we could answer if we we were ready.
We eventually just said firmly and loudly that we were ready to order before they got all the way to the table. Whew. It worked!
I had a few menu questions but I didn’t ask since I figured I wouldn’t get to order. So no carnivore or keto n for me! Salad came close.
Food came out in reasonable time. Food runners were both a bit… distracted seeming. Hot cast iron just sorta flopped down and jonwords or anything.
Not super busy, they were a bit over staffed. No language issues. So I’m just confused about the avoidance in general.

The place was practically empty however we only saw our waitress one time after we ordered and had our food delivered by the kitchen staff. I ordered a fajita salad and it was gross. No cheese or flavor and the meat was dry. My family orders were “meh” according to them. The waitress came by ten minutes after the food was delivered and by then I just ate it because I was really hungry. The “table guac” was not made at the table and tasted like it had more onions than avocados. My son’s drink was empty when the food was delivered and I had to give him my water since nobody checked on us. We also waited over 10 minutes for the check until my husband started walking around the place looking for it. It was dead in there and they could not get it right. I used to love this place years ago and would come at least twice a week. As we were walking out the staff was all sitting around just joking around. It’s really gone downhill. I’ll never return.

Food is volumes better than other area Mexican restaurants, but every single time we eat here we wait forever on service from taking orders to check delivery. You sit, 15m in they ask for drinks, 30m food order, food out in 10, then sit another 40 for dessert order…another 20 for the check. Not a school night destination.

The food at Plaza is always delicious, and they change up their menu and keep it interesting. The birria Ramen was amazing, AND it came with these sinfully delicious little birria egg rolls. So much food, the portions are huge.

These are some dirty ppl! I’ve seen the back of the restaurant and kitchen looking for the restroom I got lost. Disgusting! They don’t clean up before closing, they come in the next morning and clean up from the day before and I saw pest control. They even have an opening under their back door where rodents and whatever else could be in this place.

If I can put a zero I would horrible customer service very racist towards African-Americans they sat down three Caucasian families on one side and treated them like royalty and still hadn’t even came to got our drinks then when we said something to the waiter not once but twice and asked for a supervisor they laughed and said you can call corporate we understand it’s fine, I will never ever ever ever ever ever ever come to this restaurant if not everyone can be treated equally. This is disgusting and disturbing that you would even have service like this. Corporate will be aware of this…..

This place is not a bad place to try but it’s not my favorite. There’s several hole in the walls on Jefferson way better but this place for a franchise type is ok. Glad I came but won’t be back. I think it’s a solid 3.5 rating. If you like Baja style this place works, if you like authentic Mexican no. Cheers.

They have poor selection of beers. If you’re an IPA guy this isn’t the spot. Would be nice to see them reach out to local breweries and get their IPAs in.
FOOD:
Was a 50/50. Some of it was really good and the rest no flavor. Steak was really chewing, shrimp frozen style, rice no flavor, and tortillas are like Taco Bell plane white no authentic flavor. Black beans were good, chicken was good, and chorizo was good. Chips are good but salsa no flavor more like tomato sauce. Also, they do not let you take any To-go drinks at-least that’s what they told my wife. After we saw a few drinks being sent out.
SERVICE:
Couple waiters were good but some were terrible and rude. The bartender was very nice.
ATMOSPHERE:
Very nice and esthetic. Music was good.
PRICE:
EXPENSIVE but everything in today market is expensive with inflation so I get. But yeah not a cheap spot. Do I think the price equals the ambiance, I think so.

We frequently come to this restaurant and usually have a great experience, however, when we went tonight it was different. Different in the way that after our waiter took our order, we never saw him again until he brought the check. He never came back to check to see how the food was, ask if we needed extra napkins or if we wanted refills on our drinks. Our food tasted good, not great and the restaurant wasn’t busy or too loud, but we were very disappointed in the service. Hopefully it will be better the next time we go and if not, we’ll find another Mexican restaurant to start going to.
