At our Orangeburg, SC location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

The cashiers are not attentive. They have Poor attitudes, they don’t move in a haste, and are very unprofessional. They need to be restrained. CAPTAIN DS Cater to alot of seniors, so who would want their grandparents or parents being served by someone with such low quality hospitality. Retrain your front line cashiers / servers!

This place should be closed down permanently. I have ordered from here twice and both times were horrible experiences. Each time, my food took an hour to be served and it was cold.
The second time, I also had hair in my food. This restaurant is like a training restaurant and it will eventually cost the public health issues if it has not done so already.

“Update* Redemption! Last week I have to say I got the best fish and fries ever! Everything was so fresh! So in my book I move Captain D’s from a 1 star to 5 stars! I don’t know who was cooking that day, but they sure put their foot in it! Lol

Not from Orangeburg, however I was visiting my cousin that’s in a nursing home and he wanted Fish and Shrimp for lunch. I did a Google search and this was the closest location. I could barley hear the Drive Thru attendant. I made him aware very kindly and he didn’t care. He had no personality whatsoever when I got to the window to pay. Captain D’s was pretty crowded when we went. They had enough space for everyone and the food was delicious and hot! It was a rainy day and they made sure the floor was maintained and the tables were cleaned as soon as customers left Awesome place to eat!

In the area for the weekend, service was great. I did not get front counter persons name but she loves what she does! Good customer service is almost non existent these days but she enjoys serving people! ( she said she started Nov of last year)
