We stopped at McDonald’s for lunch in York, NE. Nobody was at the counter to take our orders, probably hoping we old people would just use the 2 kiosks. We waited until someone came to the counter. We ordered the $5 Meal Deal with the double cheeseburger, 4 nuggets, small fries, and drink. The fries were warm but not hot.

We stopped at York for iced tea. While the service was prompt in pleasant, the tea was so cloudy we wondered if it came from the Platte River. Taste was strong but did not hint of catfish or snapping turtle so we kept it. Would recommend cleaning the machine for a crystal clear and less bitter experience and taste. Was glad there was a McDonald’s to stop at on I80.

I placed an order online and it was way simpler to do that then sit in the long line through the drive thru! When I got the food it was nice and warm. The only problem I had was that no one greeted me. They saw me but said nothing. The restaurant was nice and clean.

Each time I order a hot caramel macchiato, I always get an iced one handed to me. The label on the cup doesn’t even say iced!!!!! The times I’ve handed it back and said “that was supposed to be hot”, I always get looked at it like I’m in the wrong. One of the supervisors went from a happy mood to an angry mood when I brought it up. Also, why does the person handing me a bag of food not ask if this is mine? Do they not repeat your order anymore to make sure it’s the right order going out? It seems like each time, a bag just gets handed to you and the window closes immediately and the employee walks away just as fast. What happened to customer service? It seems like they don’t train employees on how to greet customers or about customer service in general.

The food joint is fithy, I don’t understand why they don’t clean up. Honestly I was a little hesitant to eat the food after I paid for it but I thought surely the kitchen must be clean. Well as I kept eating I regretted my choices. My chicken nuggets had some black speaks lovely! The more that I paid attention to my fries the more they seemed to be a darker hint of brown. It made me question if they change the oil .. idk but I forsure do know that I found 2 bugs in this restaurant.. here it goes..

The woman who took the order at the drive through had issues understanding English, missed part of the order, no one was at the first window to take money after I waited, pulled up to the second window and was told I had to go back to the first window to pay. Tried to back up but someone pulled in behind me. No reason they could not have taken the money at the second window since no one was at the first to take the money. Customer service has gone too hell at this place and many of the other fast food places.
Update: thought I would give this place another try, 2 of the breakfast burrito meals and we did not get the hashbrowns at all. Service has gone too hell. And as for my issue? It’s not my issue it’s yours. Your store has gone into the gutter. I remember when things were great years ago but now…

We always ask for at least one of our orders to be modified somehow. Like no cheese or pickles, or something similar. We were weary if stopping because we were traveling. But were hungry so we did. That that place nailed our order. 100% we’ll usually get down the road before we realize the order is not correct. But not this time. It was great, thank you!

The McDonald’s in York Nebraska is one of the worst places to eat. I was contacted by McDonald’s and explained what happened on that visit. But, they never contacted me again.
To me, it doesn’t say much of the leadership. What happened to my complaint? I will never know.
