Otherwise the service was fast and friendly.
The flavor of everything was amazing and they put an absolute ton of meat in their banh mi and pho which makes them very filling, which is great.
Only cringe I had was the price. The pho had double the meat as another places but was also double the price which hurt the wallet. We were in the area on a trip all week and our lunch here was the most expensive meal of the entire trip. I get the downtown location means high rent but wowza lol.
I’d still go back for a filling bowl of pho or a hefty good banh mi every once in a while though.
I went for the brisket Banh Mi Drip.
Overall it was good, the bread seemed fresh, and the brisket was tender and soft. However it was seasoned with a very sweet sauce which I did not care for. I’m certain that most people would love the sweet sauce, but I don’t like sweet sauce on meat.
For this reason I do not imagine that I’ll return. I’m also certain that others will love it.
Unassuming from the exterior but great food. Comforting Pho with a savory flavorful broth. And an amazing Bahn Mi Drip – imagine a Vietnamese cheesesteak with a concentrated pho broth. Surprisingly best meal we’ve had.
Talked to the owner for a bit – the recipes are directly from his mom. Can’t get any more authentic than that.
Honestly it’s overpriced @ $17 per sandwich plus tax and tip. We served ourselves – cleaned up a dirty table when we arrived and bussed our own dirty plates after. Ordered via a tablet and there’s no service or free water. It’s limited tables/seating inside.
We both ordered the beef brisket Bahn mi. The broth was luke warm, not hot, and too salty. The brisket would have tasted better if it came with pickled veggies. And it’s a little sweet.
We wouldn’t come again.
