If you’re spending time antiquing in Aurora, this restaurant is a gem in your journey. Excellent food and wonderful service, even managers were walking around and greeting people. For an appetizer, we tried the cholula-candied bacon deviled eggs – delicious and not an overpowering spice. Great flavor! For mains, we tried the slow braised ribs, which were perfectly cooked and sauced with a lovely gravy, fresh mashed potatoes and those cute whole, small carrots…all making the dish perfect on a cold day. We also tried the vegetarian pizza…oh my…so good. A whiff of that wonderful garlic, hazelnut, pesto flavor and I was in heaven. Soft crust and large enough for me to take half home for lunch leftovers. Fantastic. We then shared a bread pudding that was absolutely lovely. I’m not a bread pudding fan, but this changed me. Huge portion for sharing. And Longbottom coffee, piping hot and fresh, paired amazingly with this lush dessert. We’ll definitely be back.

I was craving some good macaroni and cheese so did an internet search and chose Filberts. I have been there before and ate the chicken and dumplings which were pretty good, well prepared with plenty of chicken and good dumplings but the stock seemed under flavored at the time. This time I came back for the Mac and Cheese. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Well cooked and seasoned with a nice little crunch on top. The pasta was perfectly cooked. There was plenty of meat with the meal and there was an option for additional toppings. The serving size was large and enough to take some home. The service staff were awesome and very attentive to my needs. There was handicapped parking in front with easy access to the restaurant. The doorway was difficult but staff were observant and quick to assist. The restaurant was clean, well decorated and pleasant to eat in. My only concern of course was the cost of the meal when a macaroni and cheese meal becomes elevated to nearly $20.00. I enjoyed it very much anyway and would likely purchase again !!!

I’m really surprised I haven’t reviewed this place before–it would have been 5 stars.
Sadly, the food quality has degraded significantly, ab as much as the prices have raised.
Food: 4/10
Service: 10/10
Atmo: 10/10
The Cornbread was $12 for a single slice and was a bit gummy. Not my favorite, definitely not recommended.
The “short rib” wasn’t tender and had little flavor. It was closer to a roast than any short rib I’ve had. The “garden vegetables” ended up being 5 baby carrots from a bag & not worth eating. The ice-cream scoop of mashed potatoes weren’t impressive, either. The gravy was just lousy.
The fish & chips were good except the fries didn’t taste fresh.
The place is beautiful and the service is excellent. That’s really the only positive comment I can make.
Oh, and bring cash bc they have a surcharge for credit cards. They’ve lost my business for good.

Never been here before tonight. But everything was simply delightful. Service was top notch. Food was nothing short of amazing. Best meatloaf I’ve ever had. It comes with a mushroom sauce, but as a person normally dislikes mushrooms, it wasn’t an overwhelming taste. Highly recommend. Saw someone at the next table get the chicken & dumplings and it looked fantastic. Definitely going to get that next time. Chocolate raspberry flourless torte was to die for scrumptious! This would be a perfect date night or a place to get together with your besties on the weekend for a gab sesh. Yes, it’s a little more spendy than other places, but my goodness you get your money’s worth. Portion sizes are huge!! Will absolutely go again! I give it 10 out of 5 stars!!!

Food was truly excellent in an upscale but inviting environment. Katie, my server, was super kind and recommended the meatloaf. The stuffed mushrooms are also an absolute must! The quality of food and freshness of ingredients is unmatched. This is the first of many visits to come.

Fantastic. Great set-up, amazing service and the food is shockingly wonderful for feel-good items. They’ve found a way to recreate classics in a way that takes you home, if you’re home were a magical farmhouse with incredible chefs. I will go back.

Excellent interior design and decor, one of the nicer restaurants in the area where you can enjoy a meal with friends, family, or that special someone in your life. Service tends to be good here, reservations on weekends are recommended but not always necessary. Some dishes are very good, while others push the limit on mediocrity. Their house meatloaf is a winner and takes a more savory approach, featuring mushroom sauce that delivers light flavor and keeps and abundance of moisture soaking into the well blended meatloaf, perched on a layer of garlic mashed potatoes. This last time I tried the Classic Chicken and Dumplings but was disappointed as they were lacking the signature dumpling gravy and were instead soaked in light brown gravy which was fairly plain, celery and carrots were under cooked and dumplings themselves were similar to cafeteria biscuits, this entree is not recommended. The farmhouse burger has a huge patty with plenty of grease and moisture, heavy on caramelized onions, but sparce cheese with no mentionable condiments resulting in heavy beef flavor, however the perfectly cooked crispy yet soft fries are an excellent distraction from the gutbomb burger. Other dishes are decent and dessert here is very good, and they are frequently busy so there are some things they’re doing right. Prices are higher here and match the environment, they are well staffed and service is solid, but the entrees are hit and miss – our last visit had 2 flops and 1 solid dish so we’re not rushing back to continue to explore the rest of the menu.

We had dinner at Filberts on July 3. We were a party of 5, and were able to made a reservation an hour before we got there. The atmospere was good and so was food. Our friend ordered the black mission flat bread to share. I don’t really like figs, but the appetizer surprised me. The braised beef short ribs were tender and delicious. I was so full at this point, but our friend ordered the bread pudding to share. I took a bite and I was glad I tried it. Food-wise I really had a great experience. I was a bit disappointed in our server. She looked tired and wasn’t attentive. Also, it would have been nice if she clarified with us about the appetizer and dessert because we shared them. Instead of asking, she just put one of them on our tab. The other thing that disappointed me was spotting a fly inside the restaurant.

Whether it’s a special occasion or just a late lunch after a day of antiquing, Filberts seems to always hit just right. The stuffed mushrooms are delicious and you can’t go wrong with the Farmhouse burger. Good food in a charming little place.

I don’t know how anyone could possibly give this place anything shy of 5 starts across the board! It is the picture perfect wine country find! The food and service back up out picture perfect it all was! Aaron running the bar was so nice, he anticipated my needs, and made great conversation but understood when to give me a moment to eat or read my book without being awkward at all. The food was absolutely spectacular!!! Best chicken and dumplings I’ve ever had. My husband’s grandma made chicken and dumplings like this and I’ve been trying to figure it out for years, I thought I had found it when I took the first bite of this dish, sent it to hubby without any words and he said “where the heck are you?? That looks just like grandma’s dumplings!!” Their wine selection was of course great, and I used to work in wine, Aaron’s knowledge was great! When in wine country this is the place everyone dreams of stumbling (pun intended) onto. BTW I was here last month and was so busy I finally got around to writing a review, but it was a must as they deserved every bit of this review! GO HERE!! Even if you don’t drink, just go!
