The atmosphere on the outside does not look great. Usually this would be a warning but I have been to some Mexican restaurants that had the same issue but put out really great food. Upon entering the atmosphere improved slightly and we were met with a warm greeting. After sitting and looking at the menu, the service started to go down. Chips and salsa were OK but drinks were all canned and / or bottled. My son was trying to clarify his order and asked specifically if the picture on the menu was indeed what it would look like. The waitress seemed puzzled and then agreed; yes. The order was a Mexican style burger and when delivered it was not as pictured. It was missing several ingredients and when questioned, the waitress claimed that they do not make it that way anymore. So he rejected the order. My wife and I tried the Menudo and it was good, nothing special and paid $19 a bowl. The best part was the homemade tortillas, unfortunately their Birrieria was just average. The rice was soggy and over cooked and the beans had a weird earthy type flavor. We asked for refills on chips and salsa and never got them, even after we walked up the empty containers to them. They were not busy, so I can only guess this is how they do business.

Recently went with my family for lunch and was completely disappointed with the menudo. But the most disgusting thing was when we order 3 aguas frescas 2 horchatas and 1 piña and the cup smelled bad. Like they just rinse the cups and don’t use any soap or detergent or let the cups sit in water. It took a long time to get a waiter attention all the girls was just in the back chatting trying to pop each other back ridiculous! After getting one waiter’s attention we let them know about the plastic cups smelling awful and would like to exchange the drinks for 2 Coca Cola bottles. They still had the audacity to charge us and not admit the the issue. This shows this business doesn’t care about customers and can’t recognize their fault doing.

I asked for a pollo ranchers plate, but they made it out of fried chicken made who knows when, I feel the way they are cooking and preparing food is discussing, they are deceiving people, making them think is real Mexican food,…. owner it is unfair of you to do that and you still charge lots of money.

Took me and my buddy over an hour to get an Uber for about a mile down the road from the Flying J but the food and service are amazing!! Anyone traveling through Tulare, Ca. must stop here. It’s just off hwy 99 on ave. 200. Outstanding service, friendly staff, clean restaurant. With plenty of parking. I went for the birria de chivo en caldo today, man it was delicious. Also very important is the hand made tortillas, this is the only place where you will actually find a good tortillera for the job, they are soft and so good. These guy’s do it all, the salsas are really good! Hands down one of the best places for Birria in the Central Valley. I can almost guarantee everything on menu is just as good. Highly recommend, I will definitely be back!

One of the best Mexican Restaurants around in Tulare! Off of the 99 freeway. Today they’re was so many truckers & big rigs coming & going (plenty of room in the parking lot). Me & the family saw 4 when we got there & some more came & stopped in to eat also & there was more family’s enjoying the food because it is so delicious & tasty! . Everything thing I’ve eaten here has been very good and filling.
They have homemade tortillas and salsas that are soooo addictive!
The meat and vegetables are fresh, and have great color, taste and texture.
The portion size is generous, even for a man-sized belly, and they check on you at about the right pace to see how you are doing, and if you need a refill of your beverage. I usually get the Mexico made Coca-Cola, so I just order a second if I’m really thirsty.
The staff is pleasant and professional. Even during covid they obeyed the rules and opened only when authorized. This made it rough on us that eat here often, but I’m sure it was best for all citizens.
They clean often and follow the state protocol, which is a great example!
I have always received wonderful service and expect to continue dining here when I come through town.

I did not mention on my previous review that this restaurant (usually) has a HUGE treat/candy section at the check-out area.
My favorite treat is the crumble peanut-butter cookie..
