We just had the best tacos in a while, and the churros were outstanding! Both were absolutely worth it, and I’d highly recommend this spot if you’re craving amazing tacos and churros. Can’t wait to go back and try more. Absolutely amazing !!!

Food was amazing. Couldn’t believe they had a 4.9 rating with over 1700 review, but the food was that good. You’re best bet is to order at the computer, it’s way faster than waiting on the poor girl trying to bag orders and take yours. Drinks and salsa bar were messy, but they were really busy, the bathrooms were gross.

THE FOOD & THE STORY
For those new to the style, “Birria” is beef slow-cooked with chiles and spices until it is incredibly tender.

• The “Red” Taco Shell: The kitchen takes the top layer of seasoned fat from the juices in the pot and uses it to fry the taco shell, which gives the signature red/orange color and crispy texture.

• The Dip: The remainder of the rich juices are served as a cup of consomé, which ends up being a savory dip for every bite of the tacos.

THE MEAL
Mike’s Meal ($14.99) is a fantastic value.

It comes with two Red Tacos loaded with melted cheese and tender beef.

The plate is bright and fresh, accompanied by sliced radishes and onions, pickled onions, lime, cilantro, and salsa.

The fresh, house-made chips were a great crunch to round out the tray.

Kiddo got the burrito, that was also large and filling, and delicious.
Tried a few of the salsa, the orange salsa packs a punch for sure.
Wish we had these kind of tacos back home.

I’ve been to the Mike’s Red Tacos in Claremont so I needed to try the Point Loma and it did not disappoint. Food was so delicious, not bad on wait time. This establishment is a little bigger than the one in Claremont and there’s outside seating as well.

Great value for the price! Staff was attentive and was quick to solve an issue by paying with a gift card. Food came out quickly and had a great portion size. The date I came with enjoyed the hottest three salsas and I enjoyed the milder salsas.

I was feeling something lite, so I just got a cheese quesadilla: good. My friends got the birria tacos and they quite enjoyed them. Said the limes were good. I also tried the agua frescas, didn’t love them. I ended up with the horchata, but could use some more flavor. Pretty busy, but not too long of a wait for my food.

I’m from Utah and I simply asked Google, “best taco place near me” and it pointed me in this direction.

When I walked in and saw the barria tacos, I knew I was pointed in this direction for my 24 hour stay.

This place is amazing. The salsas, noice, and the chips and guacamole… heavenly. Wonderful experience

The flavors were perfect. The service was great and the location worked out perfectly from where we were staying. I went with the California Burro but also got to taste the birria tacos with the consomé. Wow! So good. I can see why this place stays busy. It was a perfect lunch run for us and I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in the area.
