Since we moved to Charleston two years ago from Colorado, we’ve been searching for good Mexican food and this is, to date, the best we’ve found. Not as many “combos” on the menu, but a lot of the tried and true favorites.
Definitely worth the trip!
Left with a full belly and slipped into a foodie coma. (No I didn’t enjoy any margaritas).
With all this cold weather, I was happy to enjoy a hot meal but healthy bc it was a salad. ROFL!
So good!
I wanted to give this place 10 stars. The house made salsas and hot sauces are so good I’ve been here two days in a row. The street tacos make you want to get up and just slap somebody. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The staff was friendly and quick to be at service. Ive driven by this place a hundred times and walked in by chance. So glad to have found this spot.
As odd as it’s going to sound, not all mexican food is created equally just like all people who like Mexican food are not created equally. This is what makes this restaurant definitely a step up from their competitors.
Myself, I’m Mexican and I love “authentic” mexican food. The boyfriend is white and prefers more of a Tex-mex flare.
Upon ordering, the first thing they asked when he ordered was if he wanted the tacos Mexican or American style. That’s when I realized this place had it all figured out! He will never be the cilantro and onions kinda fella.
I ordered the street corn, sopas al pastor, and a carnitas street taco. He ordered 2 beef soft tacos with rice and beans. The food was EXCELLENT! One thing I really loved was they brought out the salsa, which to me was a bit bland, but he loved it. Here’s the game changer – they also brought out a variety of authentic Mexican sauces. They were exceptional!
If I had to find a critical component I would say it’s probably the chips – they were a bit hard for my liking. But a chip is a chip… it was still good with the queso.
This restaurant has it all, for everyone! Finally a restaurant that will cater to both sides of Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine.
