I visited this Popeyes at 2615 South Clinton Street in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and ordered a two-piece spicy with macaroni and cheese. Immediately, they tried to upcharge me to a large, which I went with.
As soon as I got my food, I pulled into a parking spot to eat. The macaroni and cheese? Absolutely disgusting—just gross. The chicken? Completely undercooked. The smaller piece was barely edible, but the larger piece was straight-up inedible. This was one of the worst meals I’ve ever had.
I love Popeyes, and I don’t eat out often, so this was beyond disappointing. The location is terrible, and it shows in the service. On top of that, they tried to push a pie on me—honestly, after this experience, I can only imagine how bad it would have been. At this point, I’m surprised my Coke wasn’t flat.
Instead of focusing on selling their app and pushing pies, they should focus on the basics—like making at least edible chicken.
One star, and that’s me being nice.
After waiting approximately 30 minutes with no food brought out and no communication from staff, I exited my vehicle and went inside the restaurant to inquire about my order. Upon entering, I observed several staff members standing against the walls using their cell phones and talking among themselves.
When I asked about my order, a staff member requested my receipt, which I provided. Only at that point did the employee begin preparing my food. Once the order was placed into the bag, the employee threw the bag toward me across the counter. When I asked for the condiments that were supposed to be included with my order, I was told to go to the back of the restaurant and get them myself.
I then asked why I was instructed to pull to the side door if staff had no intention of bringing the food out. I was told they were waiting for food to cook. However, it was clear that my order had not been monitored or prepared at all during the 30 minutes I waited outside, and no action was taken until I entered the restaurant myself.
Throughout the interaction, the staff was unapologetic and acted as though my concern about food I had already paid for was an inconvenience to them.
It is important to note that my order was not large or complex. I ordered only two meals:
• One three-piece wings combo
• One three-piece tenders combo
Given the small size of the order, the excessive wait time, lack of communication, and unprofessional behavior are especially concerning. Furthermore, the fries were cold and the biscuits were hard. Considering the wait time, I should’ve been given fresh fries and biscuits.
This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have had!
Absolutely unacceptable. I just got out of surgery so my husband went to get dinner tonight. After they had him pull up, in the drive through, they NEVER brought his food out. He was in the drive through 18 minutes last night, and instead of apologizing or compensating for his time and THEIR mistake, they got into an argument in the back and just handed us the food. My husband is literally the most patient and nicest person when wet go out but last night made him so upset. I am going to call coorprate today
The girl got my order right. Gave me a few extra pieces for my inconvenience. Again I’m over this franchise. Chicken finger looked so small. And my biscuits was kinda hard. Rough getting fresh food after 8pm. Somehow they stay in business. And have more than one store open here. They’ve been here in Fort Wayne over twenty years ( 24yr) Remember when they first opened 2002. That line was crazy long
