Reviews
We purposely got there when they opened so we were sure to get a table. It’s very crowded on the weekends so keep that in mind .
We had the “Big Ohio” and the “Big Steve”. Both were delicious as was the coffee. The sevice was great. Highly recommended.
Very disappointed in the policy’s of a business that should know better and tries to be a staple of the community. Having said my party of 2 is on the way 15 minutes out, and the second person being pregnant. I knew the bar would not work. So getting there early to get a table is an important part of choosing the location. When requesting to sit, as it was busy, so not to have to then be placed at the bar where it is not accessible for someone that is pregnant safely. Was told to have to wait until that person shows up to sit because they “could not sit a single person” even though that person fully made aware they planned to order food, and could not be anywhere but the bar.
And after asking, they immediately sat a party of 2 at the only open table.
When I mentioned this was rude and asked if the gentleman was the owner (expecting him to act like and owner and have a conversation was the intention) they said no it’s not rude and just policy, while confirming this person is the owner.
and then when writing this review on a private device and not showing this owner, he looked over the shoulder very in-appropriately to grab the water on the patron side of the bar, and told me to leave and write the review outside which was a complete invasion of personal privacy and space .
How a company like this has ever stayed in business is beyond real, when they have no issues apparently discriminating against a pregnant patron party, and inappropriate invade personal space.
I hope anyone expecting a considerate or human touch does not expect it from here. Normally this isn’t even something that would be requested outside of the specific circumstances.
And rather than take a moment like a human to discuss when mentioned this seems rude, they asked to leave the premises after violating personal space to spy. They have no signs indicating that people waiting for a table on their phone must leave, this is an invasion of privacy and beyond unprofessional.
We ordered cheeseburgers, fries, and Reubens, and they were all cooked to perfection. The burgers were juicy, flavorful, and served on a perfectly toasted bun with fresh toppings. The Reuben was outstanding—loaded with tender corned beef, tangy sauerkraut, and melted Swiss cheese on beautifully grilled rye bread. The fries were crispy and golden brown, the perfect side to our meals.
But the real showstopper? The Plain Skillet Pancake! It was absolutely to die for—fluffy on the inside, slightly crisp on the edges, and so delicious that we’re already planning a return visit just for that. It was hands down one of the best pancakes we’ve ever had!
The service was also top-notch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making for a perfect dining experience.
If you haven’t been to The Governor yet, you’re missing out. Highly recommend this hidden gem for a meal you won’t forget!
Thank you Adam for your fantastic service!
