Ingredients on not fresh, they served me mint leaves that have already rotted.

They also cheap out on ingredients. Got a rare beef and beef balls pho, and they cut up each beef ball into multiple pieces to make them appear more.

The broth was also very dark with a thick layer of oil.

This place is under new management and is technically now called Ngon Corner but it seems they’re capitalizing on the high ratings of the old restaurant here.

Although the owner’s attitude was good, the takeaway itself was very disappointing. The food was hard and cold, and it felt like something I was supposed to take home and cook again myself. What I expected was ready-to-eat takeaway food that I could eat immediately. Not everyone brings takeaway home — I was in the middle of working overtime and just needed something to eat quickly. The whole situation left me in a very bad mood.

There was so much soup in the container that I couldn’t even put the noodles into it without it overflowing and making a mess everywhere. I tried microwaving it, but it still didn’t heat through properly. In the end, I had no choice but to tolerate the hard noodles and vegetables.

This restaurant has a new owner now. Not as good as before. This is used to be my favourite spot but no more. I had Hai Phong vermicelli soup with fish yesterday. It was under average. The vermicelli was hard. It was either undercooked or they made it beforehand but didn’t reheat it probably. I always ordered this dish at different Viet restaurants and even at Ngon’s Corner before but for the very first time the fish noodles dish didn’t have any fried fish, only fish cakes. That totally threw me off. When we came for dinner, there was only me and my husband but still I had to wait for a while for my food to come. Not coming back here.

I recently tried the pho at this place, and it was next level! Instead of your usual sliced beef or brisket, they served it with three full beef ribs and a giant beef knuckle bone — talk about presentation!

The broth itself was flavorful, sweet, and rich — almost too rich after a while. That’s when their house chili sauce came in to save the day — adding just the right amount of spice and acidity to balance things out.

Portion size was generous, definitely worth the price, and perfect for a cold day. If you’re a pho lover who wants to try something more meaty and bold, this is it.

Highly recommend going hungry and bringing your chili game.

Not sure why this place has a 4.8 star. The pho was very underwhelming. The broth tasted watery and wasn’t hot enough, so the meat didn’t cook and was tough. Portions were smaller than other pho spots despite higher prices, and the noodles had a strange, plastic-like texture. The more I ate, the less I enjoyed it. The staff and service were friendly, but the food wasn’t worth it.

The food here is excellent—flavors are spot on, portions are generous, and everything we tried was delicious. The service staff were friendly, attentive, and made the experience enjoyable. Prices are also quite reasonable compared to similar places.

That said, the kitchen staff should exercise a bit more care when preparing the food. I won’t go into detail as the manager stepped in immediately, apologized, and handled the situation with genuine attentiveness. It wasn’t a major issue, but it’s the only reason I didn’t give a full five stars.

One thing to note: parking can be tricky. The lot out front is small, and you can’t park in the back lot as it belongs to Jumbo Lobster.

Whenever I come across a restaurant like this, I am always surprised as to how authentic Vietnamese cuisine has become in Toronto/GTA over the years.

The pho was perfectly rich, but light. The rare beef melts in your mouth. It’s difficult to impress my Vietnamese mother, but even she was surprised to how good her bún bò Huế was (the dish she’s most picky about). It was perfectly spicy, savory, and aromatic.

We also ordered the chả giò (fried spring rolls) and they were one of the best we’ve had. The filling was seasoned well, and the outside had a terrific crunch.

The portions here are also very generous which we appreciate! It’s good value! Service was also friendly.

Side note:
We wanted to order a pho to go for my father because we didn’t want him to miss out. However, they told us that we could only order the large size for takeout and not the regular. We just found that a bit odd.

Update:

On the pricier side for a bowl of pho, but I much rather eat here than your typical Pho Anh Vu. Jonathan was our server and he was very friendly.

It’s ~10% more expensive than other vietnamese restaurant, but it is worth it.Broken Rice with Chicken and Fried Egg is delicious. Chicken is tender and egg is silky. The Secialty Grilled Combo with Rice paper is also amazing. Especially spring roll in the combo, it is the best I have had in York Region.

A friend recommended this place for Vietnamese food and I am so happy she did. The restaurant has a cute interior so group photos will have a cute vibe, the service staff were very quick seat us as well as to serve us, and the food is quite delicious. The Vietnamese coffee was strong just the way I like. I recommend and would come back for more to try some of the other specials.

Fairly new restaurant… food is good, what you would expect from a Vietnamese restaurant. We had a larger group and the service was very good. They even allowed us to do separate bills. Food came in a timely manner. Portions are on the smaller side, depending on the dish. Place is bright and clean.
