Mithaas is a nice vegetarian Indian cuisine serving all the classics. It’s more of a casual restaurant where you go up to order but they still bring the food to you. They have very large menu with a lot of good choices. They definitely excel more in classic Indian street dishes. We ordered chile bathura, Dani poori, aloo tikki chat, Hakka noodles, spring rolls, and paneer Kathi roll.

Chile bathura – 7/10 good fluffy bustiers and Chana are just ok. Whatever their achar they give with it is really nice tho.

Dahi Poori – 8/10 this was probably the best item. Poor were nice and all the ingredients were fresh and proportioned right.

Aloo tikki chaat – 7/10 this was pretty good too could use a little more toppings and less off the puffs.

Hakka noodles – 7/10 these came out super spicy at first. We don’t really have much of a spice tolerance so spicy for us is usually mild for others but they were nice enough to remake it for us mild. Mild version was pretty good.

Paneer Kathi roll 8/10 – this was very good as well. Flavorful and plenty of soft paneer and vegetables. Not too spicy and fires were good addition.

Spring Rolls – 0/10 worst spring rolls I’ve ever had in my life. I tried to eat them but it kept tasting worse and worse. Forgot to take a pic. Do not order this.

Badam Milk – 5/10 I felt like it used to be better. It just didn’t taste as fresh this time. Still a nice drink buts its 6$ which is kind of overpriced and definitely full of sugar. I feel like they should switch to sling it fresh since the almonds won’t be soggy. Kind of surprised but I feel like they put too many almonds and kind of ruins the drink.

Overall it was a good experience the service is fast and food is pretty good. For 6 items we paid $65 cash which is not too bad, a little less than average I would say compared to others. However it’s definitely a family restaurant so don’t expect anything fancy or quiet.

Authentic flavors and great variety!

We recently visited Mithaas in North Brunswick, and the food was absolutely delicious! The Dahi Puri was fresh, crisp, and perfectly balanced with tangy and sweet chutneys — a true street food favorite done right. The Veg Hakka Noodles were flavorful and had just the right amount of spice, with perfectly cooked veggies that gave a nice crunch. The Veg Manchurian Dry was another standout — crispy, well-seasoned, and bursting with Indo-Chinese flavor.

The ambience was casual yet inviting, and the service was quick and friendly. Mithaas is definitely one of the best spots around for authentic Indian and Indo-Chinese dishes. Highly recommend trying it if you’re in the area!

We have been to this vegetarian restaurant 2-3 times in the past couple of years. Even though more of us are not vegetarians, we have always liked the food. The last time, we stopped there for lunch during a summer weekday. We order three thalis. They were reasonably priced and a lot of food. And quite tasty too. We took more than half of the food home and ate over the next couple of days. We were very happy, as always, with our visit there and would gladly go there again.

We’ve been visiting Mithas for over 5 years, and it never disappoints! This Saturday evening, we enjoyed the Chana Bhatura and Dahi Bhalla—both were delicious and tasted just as great as always. The consistency in flavor over the years is truly impressive. Loved the new furniture and the clean, refreshed space. Highly recommended!

Has the paneer kati roll and the chaat combo last weekend here. The Kati roll was okayish however the chaat combo was worth it and flavorful. Especially the bhel puri, the dahi papdi and the tamarind chutney tasted amazing!

We recently moved to NJ and Mithaas was our first stop for Indian sweets. We heard NJ is costly but never realized we would be tricked too.
When we walked into Mithaas, we were told that all Indian sweets are same cost at an exhorbitant cost of 18$ per pound. We were hesitant at this price but still wanted to buy because our kids like Indian sweets. It is unfortunate that folks try to take advantage, but dont realize that these customers will never come back.
I paid 12$ (he suggested cash to get 5% discount) for four pieces of Indian sweets.
At hindsight, i should have said no, but parental emotions had the better of me.
Customer satisfaction is paramount, but that wasn’t the case in our experience.

We went there on Wednesday night. Food was horrible. Noodles were served hot but it wasn’t freshly made. It had bad smell to it and extremely spicy. Pao bhaji was so so. Can’t call it pav bhaji it felt more like partially crushed mix veges. Then we ordered cold coffee it tasted like bornvita. We asked manager to replace it with Lassi and they did. Thumps up dint have gas in it. They replaced it with Limca. The poor waiter came and told us that he tasted thumps up but dint find anything wrong with it. The only good item we enjoyed was chole bhature. Dont waste your money. It’s not at all recommended. Plus rude staff . Not at all customer care friendly

This restaurant is a 5 in my opinion because the food was great and very nice quantity just like the streets of Mumbai. The food was spicy and nice. Their service was nice and the atmosphere was great. If you have an Indian friend or a friend who likes spicy food, come to Mithaas otherwise you’re missing out!

we recently got veg Manchurian Dry for Togo, and we were terribly disappointed. It felt like the Manchurian balls weren’t cooked or fried properly and were too doughy. On top of that, the amount of food color that stained our fingers was shocking. We didn’t expect this kind of quality from Mithaas. Please take this as sincere feedback from a regular customer, as we live very close to the restaurant.
Changing my review to 3 stars.

I recently visited Mithaas in North Brunswick for dinner with friends, and it was a great experience. Although the place was packed, we got our table as soon as we walked in. The ordering process is straightforward—you place your order at the counter with your table number, and the food is brought to you.

We started with the Manchow soup, which was delicious, and the Raj Kachori chaat, which looked amazing and tasted just as good. The chili garlic noodles were fantastic, and the gobhi Manchurian dry was a perfect accompaniment. Overall, the food was tasty, and the variety of dishes made it a satisfying meal.

I also noticed that they have a wide selection of Indian sweets and a live panipuri stall that I’m definitely going to try on my next visit. If you’re looking for yummy vegetarian food, Mithaas is a great spot to check out. Highly recommend!

I was really disappointed with my recent visit to Mithaas. Given the reputation and the high price tag, I expected a much better experience, but the value for money simply isn’t there.

The biggest issue is the portion sizes. I ordered the Samosa Chaat, and I was shocked to find it only contained one small samosa buried under the toppings. For what they charge, you’d expect a heartier portion.

To make matters worse, the food did not taste fresh. The Bread Pakora was stale and clearly hadn’t been made recently, which is a major letdown for a place that specializes in these snacks.

Between the tiny portions and the lack of freshness, I can’t justify the cost. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant based on my experience; there are much better options nearby that offer fresh food and fair portions.
