Right out the airport and straight to this gem. Sorry locals this secret shouldn’t be kept. Window service, by a bunch friendly hard working young faces. With outdoor seating and leaninging.
You can get burgers by the half dozen, awesome chicken sandwiches, sausages, and sundaes of all kinds.
I got the Fatty Patty which is a double cheese burger with a breaded chicken patty 3 mozzerella sticks and bbq sauce. It was sooo satiating. We say moreish where I am from which means you want more and more. I also got a medium fry. These come in the old school brown paper bag, not too greasy. Crispy yet fluffy on the inside. These are thicker than your normal fast food fry and it gives them a better bite.
Finally of course I got a sundae. I got the Pretty Much Spectacular. This is a warm brownie with peanutbutter sauce and chocolate ice cream. Over the top? Yes! worth every bite? YES! Ice cream was creamy and smooth. They have pleanty of other styles of sundaes including your standard blizzards, but I recommend the traditional sundae.
Not sure when this opens in the year but it closes in October. It’s fairly busy all the way up to closing for the night. But it seemed to have pleanty of parking.
Prices were right with big portions.
What a gem!

What an amazing family friendly place. We go there often for a quick burger and incredible onion rings! The playground and riding toys for kids make Blue Sky a perfect place to bring small kids for ice cream and fun! They have classic cars there on Thursdays for folks who love muscle cars from years gone bye! Sorry no Prius’s nor Teslas make the cut! Try their Tornadoes (Like a blizzard but better!)

Super fun place and really affordable. Had a good jalapeño and cheese burger and split a banana split with my friend. Home made whip cream was delicious, and the pineapple was great. Kinda stingy with the napkins though.

I was a vendor offering chair massages at an outdoor event yesterday at Blue Sky. It was my introduction to Blue Sky and the wonderful family that runs it. What a great group of folks! After dealing with the daily big city BS of Detroit and the Metro area, it was nice to discover a place like Blue Sky. The place has a friendly, hometown feel and they made us feel like neighbors. Even the burgers have that hometown, roadside burger stand taste… like the one my dad used to take me and my brother to when I was a small-town kid back in the 80s. And you sure as hell can’t beat the price! Try them out!!!

Blue Sky Ice Cream & Hamburgers is such a fun little walk-up spot. I went with the double chocolate soda (pictured) and also got cheese sticks and a sloppy Joe—though I’ll admit I started eating before I remembered to take a picture. The sloppy Joe was absolutely worth the heartburn, and the chocolate soda was the perfect sweet finish. It’s the kind of place that hits the spot when you’re craving a mix of nostalgic comfort food and classic treats.

I’ve been here multiple times. From burgers for lunch to ice cream for desert, I’ve never had a bad experience here! I love that they host community events (the trunk or treat has always been my family’s favorite). Overall good food & good people!
Edit (8/11/22): Came here last night to pick up dinner to take back home for the family. Ordered food and a couple ice cream products. All of the ice cream came out way before the food so it was starting to melt by time we left. The burgers this time around were very soggy and the small chili cheese fries had maybe 5 fries in the container. This was my parents first time eating the food here and they were disappointed.

I felt like I walked into another time!! Everyone was so friendly & kind, Chickens walking around, horse parking, customers talking about snapping beans, advertisements about local events that made me think of my childhood. I had the jalapeno burger, deep fried mushrooms, and a chocolate malt. Everything was incredible & I will stop here every time I come out to visit my daughter. Well done Blue Sky!!

Good old American type place…. Inexpensive food, great atmosphere, oldies playing, play set for the kids, shaded tables to sit at…
$1.40 for a small cone with 4 swirls…. What a value.
Love this place, love it! Great times, great cheap but tasty food, great memories.
Plenty of parking on both sides. Tables in front and more tables in back near the play area, and more tables scattered throughout the grass.

The food and ice cream is oh so very good! I told her (wish I knew her name) what I wanted and she gave me a very good recommendation. Can’t wait to return! Also the park is awesome for the kids. Thank you

Fantastic Americana at it’s finest. Lynn the owner was extremely friendly, as was everyone here.
I’ve driven by the Blue Sky Ice Cream and it was my loss for not stopping sooner.
Bought burgers and fries for a 4 man line crew and nothing was left, they chowed it all down like Ravenous animals.
Thursday is the collector car day and night, so feel free to bring your pride and joy, and your family.
Lynn also has rescued dogs that roam the grounds, but don’t beg for for food, just a hey how ya doin.
So don’t drive by stop in for an excellent burger that’s a cross between a slider and a regular burger, a little larger than white Castle, and much higher grade of beef, and Ice Cream.
Call during winter because they close when the real cold sets in.
