Had a great lunch at the bar with my partner! Anthony was great and attentive regardless of being the only server on staff. We both got platters and beer, the tab was $50. My portion of shrimp and oysters seemed small at first but it was the perfect amount of food. My partner probably had a pound of fried fish with his platter! Tasty coleslaw and the breading on the fish was perfection.
We sat at the bar and the atmosphere was very warm and homely.
Glad I found this new spot in my neighborhood

Relaxed, friendly, old school atmosphere. Really great specials. The pound of crab legs for $19 is insane, that’s like 2010 prices. The legs were steamed and served with drawn butter. Tasted great to me! The hush puppies were maybe my favorite thing but I’m a sucker for a good one of those. Get em with the remoulade for sure.

Beer was cold and well priced, good selection too. I’d say this place hits all the notes perfectly, well worth a drop in.

Went in for lunch they were busy mostly outside patio inside a couple tables. Took a long time for service. They only had 2 server on a Saturday.Food ok prices pretty high. Probably wouldn’t visit again due to Asheville right close to them with a lot more options.

We were the first customers there, party of 9. Only one server and she was very gracious, she set up our table and took our drink orders as multiple customers walked in. I can imagine it was overwhelming for her, she was still so kind and attentive. Ordered fried pickles, cheese curds and calamari, no dipping sauce which was unexpected, food came out and hour after ordering and it was delicious!!!! We won’t be back unfortunately but I definitely recommend the blackened shrimp basket, cheese curds, and beignets! Maybe it was an off day and they were short staffed, the highlight of our experience was the server….she kept her cool and was very kind, we were a big group.

Anthony suggested the 14 oz ribeye. I was gonna get a burger, but Chef Roy came out and told me all the ways he could fix that steak. I opted for the steak, medium rare, and mushrooms, with a side of coleslaw.
It was the best steak I have ever gotten in a restaurant, or steak house. The slaw was excellent as well, just the way I like it, but have never gotten it so perfect.
I have been coming here for years, always got seafood, but this changes everything.
I highly recommend you try this place while Chef Roy is in place. Also, Anthony would be my server of choice. Go, and enjoy!

Party foul! I forgot to take pics of my delicious food. I’m originally from Louisiana, so I’m picky about my seafood. This place delivered! I had the boom boom fried oyster appetizer, fried catfish/shrimp platter with potato salad. Even the remoulade sauce was awesome! Yes, I carb loaded & it was worth it. I felt right at home and plan to come back the next time I’m in town.

Went here on a Saturday about 2 PM should not have been busy at all. It was not the first thing I noticed when I walked in with the sticky floors. The AC didn’t seem to be working properly and it was mildly uncomfortable inside. I had to fish and chips which are pretty good, but I should’ve asked if the okra was made in house it was Only frozen store-bought frozen. I had high hopes but was very disappointed. They do had a good service food rating of 98.

Due to excessive price rises at some of my former favorite fish and seafood places in Asheville, this place is now my favorite fish and seafood restaurant in the Asheville area. Halibut, catfish, swordfish, salmon and other fish are often $20 and under for grilled, blackened, fried fish. Always delicious. Boiled peel and eat shrimp are large and great. Oysters sometimes on sale for 99 cents. Best hush puppies anywhere in area. Lobsters are $29.95 and cook perfectly. Huge selection of on tap beers. Ask for Anthony to serve you. He’s the best and very funny to boot. A master at mixing brews for a special creation.

We decided to spend our 20th Wedding Anniversary at Surf n Brew. We have been there before and always have great food. The portions are way too much, great thing 🙂 , and taste amazing. I love their fresh oysters on the half shell. Waitress said they do .99$ oysters specials on Sunday. Definitely going back for that!
The waitress even gave us a free slice of key lime pie for our occasion.
Great place.

Highly recommend this mountain seafood restaurant. They bring in the fresh stuff regularly from the coast & the flavor proves it. I’m a shrimp eater, and was more than satisfied this trip, as I have been in the past. Indoor & patio seating. Restrooms clean & staff friendly.
