My company rented a private space in the back for a dinner. It was very nicely set although a bit cold! We had a set menu and I wasn’t able to eat items on the menu and the restaurant made me something additionally which was a pasta dish. Everything was really good! I didn’t eat as much but my co workers absolutely loved their steaks and desserts. They kept the drinks flowing and got us all served in good time. Next time I need to try the steak!

Place is old traditional fine dining. We ordered blackened Atlantic salmon, shrimp and crab stuffed salmon, beer battered fish and chips and kids Atlantic salmon. Food was perfect and tasted awesome. Quantity was wholesome for us. Service was slow. Crowd was thin on a Saturday night and still the staff were slow and busy with something. Price wise it was on the expensive side. A dinner for 4 with no drinks, dessert or appetizers set us back by $130 before gratuity.

I’ve liked every visit so far – staff, ambiance, and some awesome desserts like the two pics. Either is a winner – chocolate truffle cake or the brown butter cake. Can’t wait to try more. I’ll pass on the cinnamon ice cream but am glad I got a taste.

The restaurant is beautiful, and I really liked the menu. However, the service was a bit hard to describe. The server who helped us was very friendly, but she didn’t seem confident in what she was doing, and that affected our overall experience. For example, I wasn’t asked how I wanted my meat cooked, among other small disappointments. Unfortunately, I’m not sure I would return.

I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for the outstanding service I received during my visit for happy hour yesterday, August 18, 2025, at your Crystal City location. My experience was made truly exceptional by our bartender and server, Chrissy (Christine).
I must admit, it has been over three years since my last visit to a McCormick & Schmick’s. A couple of less-than-ideal experiences at other locations (one at the harbor and another on K Street) had unfortunately kept me away. However, a birthday gift card prompted me to give it another try, and I am so incredibly glad I did.
Chrissy’s performance was a masterclass in customer service. From the moment we sat down, she was incredibly attentive, pleasant, and offered excellent recommendations. What truly set her apart was her ability to create a personalized and celebratory atmosphere for my birthday. Her energy and positivity made our small group of three feel like a grand celebration.
I was particularly impressed with her ability to provide such individualized attention while clearly managing a busy bar area. She seamlessly divided her time, making us feel as though we were her only guests. Thanks to Chrissy, I was reminded of how much I used to enjoy decompressing at your happy hour, and this single visit has inspired me to return to that routine.
Employees like Chrissy are invaluable. She not only provided a memorable birthday experience but also single-handedly restored my faith in the McCormick & Schmick’s brand. I ordered a burger and fries and Raspberry Moscow mule. The burger was AMAZING! (Added bacon) for the price, I left pretty full and shocked.

Catered a corporate event here last night and the entire process was super simple—from initial contact, to menu planning, to the day of the event. Dana was incredibly helpful and kept everything within my tight budget.
Bri and Carlos were absolutely amazing. From the moment guests arrived, drink orders were taken within minutes, and food was replenished throughout the night. They were attentive, professional, and created a great atmosphere.
Excellent food, drinks, hospitality, and overall experience. Highly recommend!

We had a reservation on Thanksgiving for a party of 3 at 5:30 PM, but unfortunately we weren’t seated until an hour past our reservation time, with very little explanation as to why (they said people weren’t leaving). Yes, that makes sense for thanksgiving – maybe that should have been factored in when assigning tables or accepting reservations.
After finally being seated, it took another 25 minutes just to receive non-alcoholic beer and one cocktail. We also had to ask for bread, which should typically be brought without request. (Right?) Overall, the staff seemed to need a refresher on basic steps of service.
Additionally, there was a small situation that I’d like to mention. My mom uses a walker, and although we expressed twice that she did not need assistance sitting down, a staff member continued to hold her arm. I understand the intention was to help, but when someone especially a person with limited mobility needs says they do not need assistance, it’s important to respect that and give them space to move safely and independently without being touched or hovered over.
The manager did come over the table during our meal to apologize for the wait and he offered to comp a dessert or an appetizer. ( very nice thank you)
When the check came nothing was comped so I had to ask the server & she was able to comp one appetizer.
The food is overpriced and the service is severely lacking.
For all of these reasons combined I won’t be returning.

We recently celebrated a friend’s birthday at this fine dining-restaurant in Crystal City. Our dining experience was excellent! The food was terrific. The oysters were fresh, the main course was divine, and the desserts were delightful. Our server was fantastic and knowledgeable about the menu, and we loved everything he suggested. We plan to return to try other dishes when we are in the area. We can’t wait!
