Delicious Texas style BBQ.
Pork ribs are juicy & tender & so as their brisket.
The smoked pork belly blew me away.
Their own home made sausage was really good too. Everything was so tender, so juicy & so delicious. Highly recommended BBQ place.
Pork belly and sausage was pretty good but didn’t blow me away like I’ve had in Texas. I’d say pass on this place if you’re coming from the city. Outsiders bbq in Ballard blows this place out the water.
I thought both the brisket and pulled pork were very underseasoned. Even the bark on the brisket wasn’t salty and only lightly peppered.
Best of all the staff were above and beyond generous and hospitable. They gave us red carpet treatment as first time customers and even hooked us up with some extra samples. Checked on us several times. Gave us tips and let us try all the BBQ sauces which were all.made in house and excellent. The Carolina mustard with the turkey was bomb!! We will be back many times and recommending this to everyone!
I make my own sausage, have for years. This was basic sausage, nothing special, salt, pepper, garlic and smoked. Cut on a bias, not overly juicy, needed sauce. Sausage needing some sort of a sauce says its overcooked, no fat left in the meat. Fatty brisket was good, ribs were dry as well. Well seasoned and cooked bbq should be good or better the second time around… sorry, it wasn’t. Chose 3 meats, ribs, brisket, original sausage, took home some of each and never finished them. Wasn’t from overheating them either, oven @250° with tin foil and a little moisture added, it didn’t help… the baked beans however, are on a separate level! If I’m going to send bread out to make a sandwich with my bbq, I’m going to toast it first, butter, some garlic, you know.. texas style toast. 4 pieces of plain white bread..
The beans were fantastic! Potato salad looked great, hoped it was going to bowl me over. Sorry, no. The vinegar in bbq sauce is used to cut the fat, same for slaw on a pulled pork sandwich, but not in potato salad since you normally don’t load a forkful of each with every bite. Potato salad needs mustard to get the sour taste, not more vinegar onto top of vinegar bbq sauce.
Service was great, they were on us immediately when we walked in. There was someone there, assumed from the restaurant that came out to the dinning area to talk with someone at a table. Extremely loud, like they were the only people there. Drove up from Seattle on business, seafood night be the better choice.. fresh off the boat!
