The seafood was incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection. Every dish had its own unique flavour — from the tender, melt-in-your-mouth fish to the perfectly seasoned sides that complemented each plate beautifully. You can really taste the quality and care that goes into the food.
The service was another highlight. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They offered great recommendations and made sure everything was just right throughout the meal.
Overall, this place is a must-visit for anyone who loves great seafood. Whether you’re in the mood for a casual lunch or a special dinner, you’ll leave fully satisfied. Highly recommended! ✨
There was a massive choice of starters ro choose from. Most contained fish and I ordered the prawn tempura. It was cooked perfectly and the prawns were served on a bed of greens with sweet chilli sauce.
Before the starters arrived, each of us were offered two slices from a choice of brown soda bread or white bread. I tasted both and they were of good quality.
There was a nice selection of drinks to choose from: red and white wine, beer, and non-alcohol drinks. Water was on the table too as soon as we arrived.
For main course, I ordered chicken piccata from their “land” menu, which means anything that is not seafood. It was served on mashed potato with white sauce and a side of salad and chips. There was a generous amount of food in the dish and the picatta tasted wonderful.
For dessert, I ordered the chocolate raspberry torte and a cappuccino. The torte looked small on the plate but was very rich so that size was plenty.
As we booked for a birthday celebration, staff at Kitty’s surprised us with a sparkler lit over the dessert which had been ordered by our celebrated family member. This was a kind and entertaining gesture by the team.
Prices are on the upper end of the scale for restaurants but with that said, Kitty’s is a fine dining restaurant at a popular spot in Killarney.
Given the small size of the dining area in Kitty’s, I would encourage anyone to reserve a table, regardless of group size. Nevertheless, the table and dining area did not feel cramped and was quiet enough to speak without shouting.
For the duration of our booking, we were well-respected by staff at Kitty’s. Not once did we have to ask for water refills, nor did we have to ask for fresh cutlery to be set after starters. Each member of the team was courteous and kept a low-profile so as not to interrupt our conversations between courses.
I would recommend Kitty’s for top-class seafood and non-seafood in Killarney.
The restaurant itself is fairly small, but very welcoming and well put together. It has a noticeably upscale feel, which honestly made us hesitate a bit before walking in since we were coming straight from a long day of hiking and exploring, still dressed in our outdoor gear.
Despite that, the staff treated us incredibly well from the moment we arrived. They were warm, friendly, and made us feel completely comfortable, which immediately set the tone for a great lunch. That kind of hospitality goes a long way, especially when you’re traveling with family.
One of the things we were most excited about while visiting Ireland was finding some truly great seafood, and Kitty O’Sé’s absolutely delivered. In fact, the fish and chips here were hands down the best we had anywhere in Ireland. My daughter and I both agreed on that without hesitation. The fish was perfectly cooked, the batter was crisp and light, and everything on the plate just worked.
Our family of four enjoyed every single dish as it was excellent. It’s not often that everyone at the table is equally happy with their meal, but that was definitely the case here.
If you’re visiting Killarney and looking for a great seafood dinner with genuinely friendly service, this place is absolutely worth a stop.
If we had been in Killarney longer I would have loved to return for a proper meal.
That said, the goat cheese and beet appetizer was absolutely phenomenal! The creamy goat cheese paired with the sweet, tangy pickled beets and warm earthy spices was out of this world, one of the best appetizers I’ve ever had anywhere.
So while the main course missed the mark, the starter alone made the visit worthwhile. I’d go back just for that!
For me, it’s about the whole experience, and I find these places truly nourishing on every level.
This particular restaurant feels like it was created with heart and intention.
If you’re lucky, you might meet the owner — a gracious and thoughtful woman whose presence adds an extra layer of warmth to the place.
Every dish is presented with elegance, and the overall vibe is calm, refined, and welcoming.
I believe this is the kind of place that quietly wins your heart and makes you want to return again and again
