Sankalp in Southern River has become one of my absolute favourite restaurants, and every visit is just as enjoyable as the last.
We always feel so welcome here. The atmosphere is warm, the staff are kind and attentive, and the restaurant itself is beautifully kept – so clean and inviting, right down to the restrooms. It really adds to the whole experience.
This time we enjoyed crispy, flavourful samoosas to start, followed by a comforting dhall makhani and a fragrant vegetarian biryani. The food is always fresh, delicious, and full of flavour – I have never once been disappointed.
What I love most is that it’s not just about the food (though it’s outstanding every time), but also the feeling of dining in such a luxurious yet affordable place. It’s somewhere you can relax, enjoy, and know you’ll be well looked after.
A heartfelt thank you to the staff and management for always making every visit so special – your effort and care never go unnoticed.

Had Fried rice with Manchurian balls for the first time and thoroughly loved it. It was nice and spicy as requested. Loved the Chai Tea and Salted Lassi. Will be back. $30.00

Food was below average. Chicken Chettinadu tasted horrible. We left the whole curry after tasting.
We usually go out very often.. first impression with Sankalp restaurant is the worst. You lost a nice customer.
The staff were warm, friendly, and extremely helpful, assisting us with the setup, photos, and cake cutting, which made the whole celebration smooth and stress-free.
Thank you to the wonderful team at Sankalp Southern River for helping make this milestone celebration so special and memorable for our family. Highly recommend!
Service took a lot of time but was good when they actually came to get my order. They also prioritised the food I bought for my baby and it came out first. That was very good.
Might come in another day to try out some other food too to see if it was just that particular day’s food which had some issues.
The food is packed with flavour and feels so authentically Indian. Their lunch menu is amazing value — generous portions, great variety, and everything tasted so fresh. I tried a few entrées as well and they were all spot on, especially the dosas and the crispy starters.
The service is warm and welcoming, and the whole place has a really clean, cosy vibe that makes you want to stay longer. Drinks menu is great too — lots of options to pair perfectly with your meal.
Definitely one of the best Indian restaurants around. Highly recommend checking it out if you want something delicious, consistent, and genuinely enjoyable! ️✨

I ordered the exact same dishes we usually get at Sankalp, and oh my God, what a shame. A name alone can’t buy you fame. Please get better chefs and staff, and at the very least, start serving fresh food. The staff were also quite rude from the moment we arrived, as if they didn’t even want to be there.
As a food scientist who has worked in multiple food industries, I can tell just by appearance how fresh the food is, and this was far from it.
Overall, very disappointing.
I highly recommend visiting the Westminster branch instead, you’ll immediately notice the difference.
Masala dosa and paneer tikka are another favourites…
Don’t forget to try their Sizzling Brownie..
The presentation was sloppy, sauce spilled all over the sides, and it looked rushed and careless. For something that’s supposed to be indulgent and comforting, this was just greasy, overly sweet, and unpleasant.
