Good eats! Great service. The staff was welcoming and on top of their game. The rice is seasoned to perfection. The beans were loaded with cheese. The chips & salsa were as authentic as they could be and the fajitas were delicious. The perfect lunch meal. Lunch prices are over at 3pm so get there early. The decor is authentic folk. The game is on several giant TVs. This place will not disappoint. Happy Holidays to you all!

I had an amazing experience at Playa Azul! The atmosphere was perfect for a cozy evening, and the chips and salsa were deliciously addictive. The food, especially dishes like fajita, was bursting with authentic Mexican flavors and generously portioned. What really impressed me was the exceptional service; our server was attentive and knowledgeable. Overall, Playa Azul offers fantastic service, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere—a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Mexican cuisine.

My visit to Playa Azul and the Mexican restaurant today was simply outstanding. The tacos al pastor I ordered were served on a beautiful dish, with an abundance of perfectly seasoned meat. Each bite was a burst of flavor. My family enjoyed quesadillas, shrimp tacos, and fajitas, all of which were equally delicious, hot, and fresh.
The salsa was a highlight—deliciously spicy and bursting with flavor. The chips arrived warm and crispy, the perfect accompaniment to the salsa. The waitress was incredibly kind and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. Even when we encountered a minor issue (unrelated to the food), the staff was very helpful and resolved it quickly.
Overall, it was a delightful dining experience that I highly recommend.

Called in order and picked it up. Was ready in 10 minutes. Food was excellent even though we were 30s minutes from home. The thing I was most impressed with was the packaging. Most places flood you with styrofoam containers. I was thrilled to get my food in recyclable foil pans and tops of food covered in cardboard or foil. I hate doing take out because of bad trash. If you do away with the plastic bags you will be perfect. I will be going to playa Azul more. Hats off to you guys. It shows you care!!!!!

I’ve had the pleasure of dining at this Mexican restaurant in the heart of Wichita multiple times, and I can confidently say that this place never disappoints. Each visit has been a delightful experience, making it one of my go-to spots for authentic Mexican cuisine.
First and foremost, the location is ideal. Situated in the vibrant downtown area, it’s easily accessible and surrounded by the lively energy of the city. Whether you’re looking for a spot to unwind after a busy day or a place to kick off your weekend, this restaurant’s central location makes it a perfect choice.
The atmosphere is another standout feature. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a warm, inviting ambiance that immediately sets the tone for a wonderful dining experience. The decor is a beautiful blend of traditional Mexican elements and contemporary touches, creating a space that’s both cozy and chic. The vibrant colors, intricate murals, and tasteful lighting all contribute to an environment that feels both festive and intimate.
As for the food, it’s nothing short of exceptional. The menu offers a diverse range of dishes, each bursting with flavor and authenticity. Whether you’re craving classic tacos, savory enchiladas, or a hearty burrito, you’ll find something to satisfy your taste buds. The ingredients are always fresh, and the presentation is top-notch. I’ve also been impressed by the variety of options available for those with dietary restrictions, ensuring that everyone can find something to enjoy.
The service is consistently excellent, with attentive and friendly staff who go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. They’re knowledgeable about the menu and always ready to offer recommendations or accommodate special requests. This level of customer care truly enhances the overall dining experience.
In addition to the fantastic food and service, the restaurant also offers a great selection of beverages. The margaritas are a must-try, perfectly balanced and refreshing. There’s also a good range of beers and other cocktails to complement your meal.
In summary, this Mexican restaurant in Wichita is a true gem. Its prime location, inviting atmosphere, and consistently delicious food make it a standout choice for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable dining experience. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, I highly recommend giving this place a visit. You won’t be disappointed!

Their torta was very good, the personal was kind and efficient. I loved that they offered complementary chips and sauce. Their Tres Leches was not very good. I received it warm from the outside and cold from the inside. They probably microwaved it and handed it to me. Taste was good, though.

First suggestion to a very unpopulated restaurant: don’t place the only two parties right next to each other when you have multiple options for seating. Especially when each party has a different server.
And the booth we were in was very narrow.
Food was okay. Large portions.
Server was good.
Atmosphere was dark—I assume this is more of a Saturday evening place than a Saturday lunch place. Or maybe the weather held folks back.

It was about 15 years ago when I last ate in here, since I’m not from the area. The salsa and chips were amazing. Not a fan of the boiled chicken. The waitress was great but didn’t tell me any extra charges so when I got my bill, I was surprised they charged me extra for chicken. I ordered the chicken street tacos, which weren’t your usual fried corn tortilla. It was a pre fried flour shell. I wasn’t impressed this round.

I ordered this shrimp dish in their Chipotle sauce. It was VERY spicy. I couldn’t finish it but did take it back to the hotel and mixed it with sour cream to tone down the heat. I would probably tone down on the onions. I felt like I was eating all onions because it overwhelmed the rice and avocado. Otherwise, if you like really spicy dishes, this one is for you. I would order the same but not in their Chipotle sauce. I could tell the food was very flavorful the bites I took that didn’t have too much sauce mixed in. Also, the place has such thought out and fun decor. The music was not loud and you can absolutely have a nice dinner here with loved ones or even go on dates here. The menu options are for all kinds of appetites.
