Possibly the best fried grits I have ever enjoyed. Super tasty gravy and very good biscuits. Nothing fancy – just good Southern Cooking. I’m looking forward to returning and trying more menu items. Great music and friendly staff.
I ordered the grits & gravy, a dish that invites comfort and confidence. The portion was small, and the grits leaned more toward familiar, at-home simplicity than a signature preparation. The biscuits were hearty but a bit doughy, while the eggs were cooked perfectly. With more seasoning and depth, the gravy, grits, and biscuits could easily become a highlight rather than an afterthought.
Service was memorable in its own way. A polite “thank you, sir” quickly turned into an unexpected cultural lesson before I even sat down—an interaction that underscored the restaurant’s strong sense of identity, if not its warmth.
The décor shows promise, though a deeper clean would allow it to truly shine. Dust on decorative plants and mirrors, along with an oddly placed insect trap right behind my head within eyesite & smell, distracted from the otherwise bold visual choices. Parking is also limited to paid options, which adds a layer of inconvenience.
Overall, this feels like a concept with creative roots still finding its footing. With a thoughtful refresh, renewed attention to cleanliness, and a stronger commitment to seasoning and execution, it could grow into its vision. I’m open to a return—especially after a relaunch that fully brings the concept to life.
The atmosphere was really unique and interesting to take in.
The food was amazing. I don’t know what they put in their batter/seasoning for their chicken fried steak, but I wish I knew, because it made every other chicken fried steak I’ve had in my life feel like prison food it was that good.
My sister got their biscuits and gravy and she was also in awe of how good everything was.
Really appreciated too that they had authentic Squirt soda. Was a fun novelty I wasn’t expecting.
