Very good breakfast/brunch here with my family. Wife got the monkey cakes and said best thing ever, I got the fried chicken and waffle, which had a jalapeno syrup. Very interesting flavor – definitely had some heat to it and was sweet. Very good! Youngest daughter had the red velvet waffle – beautiful! Eldest daughter had the smoke salmon and pimento cheese eggs. The eggs were sooooo creamy. Yum!!

The food was absolutely amazing!!! 10/10 definitely would recommend
The staff is super sweet and nice, the food is delicious and you also get your food with very little wait time, I ordered my meal and it came out for me within 5 to 10 minutes prior
Also the banana bread pancakes is a MUST try if you ever go here for the first time or thinking on trying something new off the menu, it is full of bursting banana flavor and very great portions

The menu has so many great options, hard to decide! I got the deviled egg sandwich, 3 out of 5 wasn’t creamy like deviled eggs. I would totally come back, service and atmosphere is great!

Absolutely Worth the Hype!
I’ve been to the Saint Paul Hope Breakfast Bar a couple of times, but this visit was extra special since I brought an out-of-town guest-and once again, they did not disappoint. We started with the donut basket, and wow – fresh, warm donuts topped with ganache that were out of this world. A perfect way to kick off our meal.
We ordered a variety of dishes to share:
• The pimento cheese scramble was rich, flavorful, and generously portioned.
• The BBLAT (yes, with all those layers!) was just as stunning to look at as it was to eat—crispy, savory, and fresh.
• The avocado toast was hearty and satisfying, and the house-made pickled veggies added an unexpected and delicious twist.
We also sipped on some iced coffees, which were smooth and refreshing; great complements to our meals.
The service was top-notch. Both the waitstaff and the manager were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home.
Hope Breakfast Bar continues to deliver a warm, creative, & delicious dining experience. We can’t recommend it enough and will definitely be back!

Yal’ll! This spot is so fantastic! It’s an old firehouse, the bell is still on the wall! It’s gorgeous inside, the food is fantastic, and our server (June) was lovely! She made us warm and yummy lattes and the pancakes were light and fluffy! Highly recommend!

My partner and I used to come here a lot and loved it, but then we noticed peanuts on one of the menu items and can no longer go due to allergies. Extremely bummed about it. The wait staff even started to remember us, but we can’t go anymore. Hope they see this and can find an alternative to the peanuts, as this is an extremely common and serious allergy. If you aren’t allergic to anything, it’s an amazing place with amazing food! Outside area is great in the summer. Recommend the chicken and waffles.

This place completely ruined any other breakfast sandwich for me. Hands down the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had! The toasted everything bagel was so good and the pimento cheese on it is so creamy and flavorful and blends so well with cheesy eggs and smokey bacon. We also tried the carrot cake pancakes and they are so good too! The spices in the pancake batter cut the rich sweetness of the cream cheese maple syrup and the nuts on top add a perfect little texture to the dish. The biscuits and gravy were ok, nothing to write home about. Everything else was amazing though. If you’re coming on the weekend, definitely make a reservation online ahead of time.

Hopes Breakfast Bar in St. Paul has serious “worth the walk” energy. We parked a few blocks away after an Electric Callboy show and joined the crowd, which is always a good sign. Inside, the place was buzzing and cozy, with a sign out front noting they donate a percentage of sales to local charity—major bonus points.
My wife loved her cotton candy mimosa, playful and fun without being over the top. I ordered the German chocolate pancakes, hoping for that classic chocolate–caramel–coconut combo. They were rich and tasty, but the coconut was more of a whisper than a feature, so it didn’t fully scratch that German chocolate itch.
Everyone else at the table was happy with their food, portions were solid, and the vibe was warm and welcoming. Overall, it’s a great breakfast spot with heart, even if not every dish is a bullseye.
