Finally stopped by Big Papi’s Taco and can’t believe I waited this long. From the first bite, you can tell everything is made fresh and packed with bold, authentic flavor. Absolutely incredible food.
The staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back before you even leave.
If you’ve been thinking about trying it, don’t wait. You’ll be glad you did. Definitely going back.

A WORK OF ART. The birria Pizza and birria tacos have me coming back again and again and again. The chipotle sauce is the pinnacle of saucy flavor. At other places, I am left wishing there was more meat. Here? There is no way they could even fit more meat in. It’s perfect.
The extra options like double tortilla? Also amazing.
I came here today after not visiting for a few months (I dont live in Frederick) and the quality hasnt changed.
It is extremely tough to visit Frederick without stopping through Big Papi’s.
I WILL NEVER EVER GO to Chipotle or Taco Bell again after trying this place.
This place is a take-out style place. Order your stuff ahead on the website and then pick it up. They don’t do inside seating.

This used to be a go to for my husband and I. One of the only places we both loved. The last time we ordered they missed our to go order then when they went to make it only had enough to make one of the items because they ran out of shrimp. This time, I picked it up and got home to find they did not put the full order in the bag. The portion is small for what it is, literally 2.5 shrimp on one of the shrimp tacos. So sad a place we want to love has seemed to go downhill.

To be totally transparent, the food is good, but I’m noticing overtime they have become lackluster with the portions. The nachos are $15. I do get the meat and other condiments on the side but the amount of nachos for $15 is slim. I reside in Frederick, Maryland, but to be honest if I felt like taking the ride, I would choose taco Bamba.

One of my favorite local taco shops that was known for its authentic delicious flavors and large portions. I always felt full after ordering a Taco Birria Combo, but left sorely dissapointed this time around. There was almost half as much meat in the tacos then the way it used to be. It’s half as much as pictured in the menu as well.

If you haven’t tried Big Papi’s yet, you are seriously missing out! The food here is absolutely phenomenal—easily some of the best and most authentic tacos in the area. I tried the quesabirria tacos, and they were a complete game-changer: tender, slow-cooked beef with perfectly melted cheese and a rich consommé for dipping that is packed with flavor.
What really stood out, though, was the outstanding service. Even during a busy lunch rush, the staff was incredibly welcoming, helpful, and attentive. They genuinely care about your experience, making sure every order comes out fresh and exactly how you want it.
The atmosphere is modern and vibrant, with a great playlist and cool greenery that makes it a fun place to grab a bite. From the unique Smash Burger Tacos to the fresh churros for dessert, everything was a 10/10. I’ll definitely be a regular here!

Love tacos and nachos so we made big papis our monthly go to… sometimes twice a month. New to the area so probably ate there ten times in the past 5/6 months. Every time we get food from here it is always different and not in a good way. One time it’s full and beautiful cooked food and other times I’m usually short on something. Today’s 2pm order takes the cake of disappointment. My chicken nachos which usually I eat and my child eats off my plate and I have left overs well it wasn’t enough to fill me up today. The chicken tasted old and not fresh. I had more lettuce than chips, meat, and cheese. Then to order a side of guacamole and it only receive a bowl of avocado mush is just not acceptable. Not lime, no salt, no tomato’s no nothing but pure avocado. I always said I can tell when they have a different cook but today idk if they were just rushing through orders or they simply stop caring. Need to work on food consistency and having some one double check the orders and calling out the cooks. How do you miss that you did not make guacamole is absurd

I tried this place because I was close by. I ordered 3 birra tacos and they were just ok. I eat birra tacos often and these rank at the bottom. They were kind of just thrown together without care for quality. I also got the corn and it was just ok. The place was nice but small. Seems to be mostly carry out but has a couple bench table things good for 1 or 2 people. I might try this place again if I was doing carry out but would Def order something different.

This place is so beautiful inside and the vibe is truly authentic! The Spanish music was great and I love all the greenery in the atmosphere. The servers were very helpful and kind.
I really just came here for the vegan tacos! I’ve been craving vegan birria for a while and I made my own remix with their vegan chorizo burrito and consume!

When I drove in seeing a lot full of cars and a few people waiting to order I knew I had found a good spot. Got the Birria Tacos and they were flavorful and delicious. The creamy salsa verde was something new and very good for those who don’t like a lot of spice. The salsa roja was sweet and packed a punch. Will definitely return next time I’m in town.
