Having visited Italian Family Pizza on our first visit to Seattle a few years earlier, we had a great experience and memorable meal. On returning on our second visit to Seattle, we hoped to rekindle the memory but were totally disappointed. There was no hospitality, we were the only patrons in the establishment, but just thought it to be empty due to the icy cold weather and rain … tables of patrons who had obviously eaten and already left were uncleared as half eaten pizzas remained on the tables despite us pointing this out to the “waitress”, in the hope of her clearing the food as I was constantly swatting away little flying insects, she did not understand our request, and just nodded and smiled. The meatball pizza was most likely just that “one meatball possibly broken up and sprinkled across a 44cm pizza “. Very bland tasting.

Today was my 1st time trying this place. The pepperoni pizza was tasty, crust wasn’t too thick or thin and it had a just the right amount of crunch. Also, my meal wasn’t overly priced.

My sister and I searched for a restaurant in the First Hill neighborhood and found Italian Family Pizza close by. It’s a classic pizzeria with Italian art on the wall and red and white tablecloths. I got a margherita pizza with tomato sauce because their version doesn’t have it. The sauce and mozzarella were particularly good. The crust was ok but the ambience and service were good.

I honestly can’t complain when they offer a lunch special of $9.99 (only available to go) for a slice of pizza larger than my hand, plus a soda on tap. While the pizza appeared fresh, the employee warmed it up in a toaster oven which was a nice touch. The sauce to cheese ratio was perfect, and the crust perfectly chewy. I will definitely be back for an affordable, quick bite. Nothing to call home about yet enjoyable and filling.

Not sure what happened to this place. It used to be the best NY-style pizza in Seattle. They seem to be using much cheaper ingredients now and the quality has deteriorated significantly. The staff is also indifferent at best, even when the place is not busy. Maybe they’re under new ownership or something but either way, it is very disappointing.

Ordered a Calzone, completely degusting. Undercooked. Aa a meat, it has just three random pieces of salami on each side, stacked, not separated, just three slices of salami in the center.
It seems like they do not know how to make calzones.
Sauce was overwhelming garlic. Nothing redeemable at all.

This is a place for a simple pie. Cheese, pep, sausage, etc. No cowboy combo, meat lover’s bullshit.
The most important aspect of this pizza is the cheese. Toothsome and homely. A distinct and durable grace one comes to expect from a non-fastfood pizza joint, ie: pizza hut and dominoes cheese is soft and stringy, a lab produced alternative that is not bad, but has not a chance when up against a pizzeria. While the sauce can, sometimes, be thin; the cheese is why I come back to this neighborhood spot. To be safe, ask for extra sauce; there is also a white sauce, and the pizza will be enjoyed by all.

I like the pizza it was very tasty but they didn’t have pineapple ❔ . So I got a pepperoni with cheese and I’m always in a hurry so I called asked how long he said 7 min so I walked there and it was more like 14 min but that was ok cause the place is pretty cool they got some cool things on the wall, it looks like they also serve drinks or cocktails but I was on the way to St James so didn’t ask about it! All in all it was about Middle of the Road. Oh also got a small pizza but that was more than I could eat alone! I think it could feed 2 no problem unless you’re a competitor eater! It comes out hot so take a blow before you bite! Thanks again homie!

Really good pizza. Best New York style pizza in Seattle area, best you’ll find besides Brooklyn Bros in Everett. In New York this pizza would get 3 stars, but it’s the best you’ll find here. Delicious, chewy thin crust, a little greasy (tons of grease on the bottom of the crust though… weird), tomato sauce was good. Pizza char was not done right. Pizza from here is best eaten right away, if you wait longer than 15-20 minutes throw it in the toaster oven for a few minutes at 500 degrees.
Order the large (24″), not the small (12″). It’s worth it.
They serve cannoli’s, it was on point and so delicious!
Didn’t have to wait longer than they estimated but I also ordered my pizza at 3pm on a Monday when they’re not busy.
Area is a little sketch. Hard to find free parking. Paid parking lot just behind the restaurant.
