Pattie melt was so good I forgot to take a picture. I should have split the sandwich with by buddy but finished it anyway. That hurt.
Tater tots were cooked to perfection with just a hint of crispy crunch.
Server was attentive but not obnoxiously so. Perfect.

My wife and I do not eat our often, as we are generally disappointed in the quality of the food and/or the service. The Brown Lantern was a very welcome surprise while we visited family in Live Oak!
We did wait over half an hour for our meals to arrive, but it was worth it! The front of the menu specifically notes that everything is cooked fresh and to expect it to take this amount of time to be served. Being adults that can read, we were not put off by this fact. Everything we ordered was cooked and seasoned well, and served hot! The portions were generous, and we had zero complaints.
Cheyenne was our server, and she did a great job of ensuring we had anything we needed and were satisfied with our experience. I was a little skeptical when she did not write down our orders, but she is a pro and didn’t miss a single thing! She took our order shortly after we were seated and promptly served us our drinks.
If you prioritize speed over quality, feel free to go elsewhere. If you have the time, however, it is entirely worth the wait. We WILL DEFINITELY return to The Brown Lantern when we visit Live Oak again.

Went through drive thru this evening, it was AMAZING! The wonderful amazing waitress was so friendly and personable! She was amazing also! I had the fish dinner. The portion was honestly for 2 people. The fish was cooked to perfection, the homemade coleslaw was soooo good! I actually called to give my compliments to the cook because they hit this out of the ballpark! Thank you! And definitely worth every penny!

This place has some Really Good Lemon Pepper wings! I went in drive thru. Service was awesome. Wait wasn’t long. I had to make myself stop eating so I could give some to my mom. I can’t wait to take her here.

I recently visited the Brown Lantern Restaurant at 417 E Howard St, in Live Oak, FL. This was a recommended place and it certainly was a good experience. Not only the staff, but the interior decor and of course the wings that I ordered. When in the area, get a beer and place your order and enjoy it.

Ordered to go, operator quoted me 45 mins which I don’t mind as long as they a honest. BLT was more than generous on bacon for sure, voodoo shrimp probably not the best togo choice but was definitely wiped out. Added clam chowder and it was the best I’ve had in a while. Staff was friendly and quick. Overall great experience!

We were just there and sat outside with our dog. My husband told one of the ladies inside we were there. After some time had passed (about 15 minutes), I went in and asked for menus. Another lady than said I got it, she found out we were outside and said “oh your outside we don’t serve out there that is for smoking only.” They have a drive through right by the outside table which was also right outside their front door and no signs saying smoking only. We up and left to never return.

Should have just turned around and left but we’re new to the area and someone suggested it. We are native Floridians. Walked in and the servers, well no hair was up and some were wearing slides and short shirts, did we land at Hooters? Man server had a long beard and no net on it also. We ordered a beer and potatoe skins. They were nuked to death and gross. Waiting quite a while for dinner, server who has long extensions and crazy looking lashes brings another beer for free, saying they poured it by accident. Still waiting for entrees. 45 minutes so far. She didnt ring it in, I’m sure. We got up and left. Won’t return. This was a done in one for us.

Please BRING back your old cheese sticks with sweet and sour. I’ve always loved Brown Latern but yesterday I was disappointed they changed there cheese sticks. Me and my kids always loved their cheese so yesterday I ordered 3 orders which is about one dollar a cheese stick, and we didn’t want the red marianna sauce they offer now with the cheese sticks. I wanted the old time sweet and sour sauce that came with the cheese sticks in the past. I’m very disappointed in the cheese sticks, me and my kids didn’t even eat them. We did eat the steak Philly cheesesteak sub and fries. Bring back your old cheese sticks!! None of us even ate these new cheese sticks they have now, and I think I paid like close to 30 dollars on there cheese sticks, I just don’t know why they changed there food items and they changed there French fries also. They literally was the best fried cheese in the entire world. We all tired one cheese and no one ate the rest of our order.

Nice place a little way off the interstate. We stopped in to try a local joint. Too many chain fast food places close to the interstate. Burger was good. I’m not sure world famous, but better than fast food. Tons of fries. And then purple Cole slaw was surprisingly good. Much better than it looks.
