The breakfast was excellent which consisted of an omelette, oatmeal, and buttermilk biscuits. However, our waitress was not so welcoming without a smile or helpful with food selections. I would like to add the wooden bench at the table was very uncomfortable .

Been several years since I was here
but it is still great. Pulled pork, slaw, stew. All excellent.
None this time but excellent. try it.
Since Covid, they close at 4PM so plan accordingly.
Great food. Great service. Give them a try. You will be happy.

Swung by just passing through Norcross, I will definitely be back, you can’t beat the price for all this food and it was delicious. My server Nazrul was very friendly and accommodating I love the vintage look of the place, it’s definitely worth the try and better than all these modernized restaurants nowadays I love the hometown feel

Tried this BBQ place for the first time and was disappointed; dry, tough brisket, bad-tasting black-eyed peas and a tomatoey sauce with no bold flavor.

Food was fresh and hot, what they brought. Never received one side or cornbread that was with the meals. Each person had to ask for drink refills and never got the opportunity to ask for to go container as server disappeared after check was given. Restaurant was pretty empty with ample staff for the level of service received. Food received was good, hot, and less than 15 min wait after ordering. Ribs were sparce and dry but flavorful.

We had come to this place because my fiances coworkers had raved about the breakfast here at his work. Well unfortunately we got there a little too late and they stopped serving breakfast at 11am so we decided to try their lunch menu.
I got the 1/2 lb Angus burger with a side of Mac and cheese and he got their fried chicken special with onion rings and mashed potatoes with gravy. Keep in mind that they only serve their fried chicken one time a week on Wednesdays. Our food arrived and mine looked fine but his had the smallest pieces of chicken that we had ever seen served at a resturaunt. My food was average, about what I’ve come to expect from a diner but the only thing I feel worth mentioning was the Mac and cheese. My fiance on the other hand had a different experience. He chose the fried chicken because it was their once a week special and he assumed that it had to be good if they only served it as a special. His 2 pieces of tiny chicken were flavorless and did not fill him up, they look bigger in the picture because of the angle of my camera but they both fit in the palm of his hand. Mashed potatoes and gravy tasted like box mashed potatoes with instant gravy. He said the onion rings were the best thing on his plate. The older brunette that served us seemed bored the whole time when dealing with us and told us that “people flock here for our fried chicken” but did not express any other concern when we told her how disappointed we were with the chicken other than saying “I hope you get something better next time”. Overall the experience was a C and my fiance was sad to leave hungry.

Local neighborhood spot that I’d bring any friend or family member to. Great BBQ, even better breakfast, and I return every weekend for the sides. Would highly recommend any of the daily changing vegetable based sides (Turnip Greens, Collard Greens, Broccoli Rice, and Spinach are my favorites). Favorite breakfast is anything with their white sausage gravy. Favorite protein (so far) is the brisket.

Highly recommend. It is a local staple. We were nearby and drove down just to go for lunch from Buford. Easy to visit on a Trader Joe’s run. Growing up in Norcross/Peachtree Corners this has been there since 1983 which is when I first went. Locals will go weekly from the area. Take your special gal there, she’ll enjoy. Great breakfast business meeting in AM for coffee pre going to work, lunch, great options for breakfast or lunch. We didn’t see Ben from Ozark Netflix there while visiting, and weren’t surprised.

I was craving for some brisket and looked for the nearest place and that’s how I found Jr’s Log house!!

Really yummy food!
Awesome service and great atmosphere!
Really fair prices for the portions and quality of food you get!
Only observation will be about the moistness of the meat (brisket and bbq pork), but other than that…flavor and sides were more than perfect!!!

Nazrul was really kind and took really good care of us!

Definitely coming back, and maybe next time I’ll try the desserts! ‍

Great food and staff at JR’s. Went for an early lunch this week. Every dish was wonderful (sorry, no pictures) from the onion rings to bar-b-que shredded pork sandwich, fried okra, sweet potato casserole, and cucumber salad. My daughter lives nearby and raves about the weekend brunch. I will go again when in the area.
