The food was absolutely phenomenal, filling, and we were surprised find local craft brews as well.
The banana pudding, I was told, has won awards. I definitely see why! Om nom NOM!
The BBQ was outstanding — not greasy, not dry, and packed with perfect flavor. It’s clear they take pride in what they serve. The atmosphere is warm, family-friendly, and relaxed, making it a great spot for groups or families.
All of this comes at a very fair and reasonable price. If you’re looking for great BBQ in the Chattanooga area, this is your stop. Highly recommend!
My family ordered the smoked chicken salad, chef salad, stuffed potato and baked beans. The salads were huge. My oldest daughter and I shared a stuffed potato as we weren’t really hungry. They let us have both smoked chicken and pulled pork on ours. The chicken was perfectly smoked, juicy and tender as was the pulled pork. Sometimes restaurants over smoke their meats and then I feel like I am chewing on a briquet. The Purple Daisy was not this way at all, again it was perfectly smoked. The potato also had sour cream and the fixins on it. The potato was nearly the size of a football and we did not even eat it all. We chose to use both of the BBQ sauces they had on the table.
The server was nice and had great suggestions.
If we vacation near here again we will come back!
The Texas toast was delicious. Everything else had no flavor. Thought this was some soul food but it is not. I do not recommend this place for good and flavorful food.
If you’re anywhere near St. Elmo, The Purple Daisy Café needs to be on your list! From the moment we walked in, the place had that cozy, neighborhood feel — super friendly staff, quick service, and they kept our drinks refilled without us even having to ask. Felt like we were regulars even on our first visit.
Now the food… wow. The banana pudding is hands-down the best ever — creamy, dreamy, and unforgettable. The stuffed potato is HUGE and loaded with goodness, and the piggy sliders were smoky, tender, and absolutely delicious.
I’m always on the lookout for amazing local spots like this — if you love hidden gems and good eats, like my pics and follow my foodie adventures! Let’s keep spreading the word about places that do it right
