Now, the Tom kha soup I didn’t have very much of, but it was decent. Lots of coconut milk to balance the spice (not too spicy at all), but I’m just not really used to this flavor. The chicken satay, though, was really good. Very lean chicken grilled perfectly with a nice sauce. Definitely recommend.
As for the mains, the pad see ew was also very tasty. Quite noodle heavy here, which I don’t mind. The vegetables are fresh, and the tofu was nicely cooked. Definitely recommend as well.
Finally, the Thai custard. It was also excellent. Interestingly, there’s a hint of chocolate as well or something of the sort besides just coconut milk. But still, very good, very creamy, and just a nice dessert.
All in all, I really like this spot. They have awesome outdoor seating if you are able to catch it (indoors is great too with all the nice paintings and such but more crowded). Portions are big, but the prices are pretty high as well. Still, I’d recommend.
The location is cute, but as soon as you enter it smells terrible like an old cat. Or dirty cats. Which is obviously off putting when you’re coming to eat. Hopefully that can be removed.
Service has always been the bare minimum. The servers never checks on us or ask if we want more drinks. But whatever, the food is great and we get in and out quick.
One day, I realized the first receipt I got didn’t match the second one (after the server brought it back with my card). The amount on the first receipt did not include gratuity in the total, just $43 even – which is why I even noticed. THEN the server brought over the second receipt with the new amount and a tip line… So how many times was I tipping over 40% for the server to come to our table a total of 3 times?
I haven’t gone back since.
The party in front of us entered, and we followed behind.
I was the last to enter when the hostess yelled, “Shut the door.” Okay, she could have asked nicely.
We were seated close to the kitchen/entrance. The server gave us water and the menu.
2 more tables of guests were seated. We waited to place our order when we realized the other 2 tables’ orders were taken prior to ours.
We proceeded to call the hostess, who, in turn, took our orders.
Our appetizer was the spring roll. The outside shell triple the thickness than any other Thai restaurant we’ve visited before. It’s absolutely disgusting. We just ate the inside.
The rest of our dinner was quite good.
They already added 20% tip to your bill. That’s why they don’t have to use customer service skills, because this place has none.
For sure, not returning and letting those who read reviews avoid this place.
Delicious!!
We had crispy egg rolls, delicate and just the right amount of filing. Thai iced coffee, and mango juice, mmm, hit the spot. Green curry, with chicken-3 spice, and it was pretty spicy, but perfect. Shrimp red chili, 2 spice, great flavor and a little spicy…one of the 3 dishes recommended by waitress, and so happy I ordered it. Ginger beef, very tasty, lots of ginger and garlic, and beef was tender. All meals came with steamed rice, and a crab Rangoon on top of rice…I WILL order a side of Rangoon next time!! By far the best I ever had!
All of our food was delicious, service was pleasant and tentative, and atmosphere was quaint. (Could have been a little cooler inside, but would not keep me from going back)
Can’t wait to go back!
