The atmosphere is vintage cozy cool. We ordered the chicken Greek style pizza and it was the best pizza ever. I am definitely coming back and am going to order the world’s best corned beef next time, but I also need to get the fish n chips- which the people next to us had and said was soooooooo good.

The service was fantastic. The atmosphere is interesting. It is like eating in someone’s house that they turned into a restaurant. They have copious amounts of outdoor seating. The dough of the pizza was delicious, the sauce was on the sweeter side, didn’t have a lot of tang. I would not recommend the mozzarella sticks. The salad was ok.

No matter what I order here, I’m always impressed! Whether it’s their famous Detroit-style pizza , the incredibly tasty corned beef sandwiches , or the fresh and flavorful fish dishes like walleye , everything hits the mark. The food, the welcoming atmosphere, and the friendly service all make this place a spot I keep coming back to again and again.
It’s the kind of place that makes you feel right at home while enjoying really high-quality meals. ✨ I keep meaning to ask if this spot has any connection to the late, beloved Z’s near the Wayne State campus — that place holds so many fond memories from back in the day! It would be amazing if there’s some connection.
Overall, it’s consistently excellent, whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or a full meal. Great food, great vibes, and a team that really cares — it’s a winning combination every time!

Came here with family on a Monday evening, the outside area is so cozy and we watched the volleyball game going on. The food is good and the portions are pretty big. Pricing is very reasonable and we were actually shocked with the bills. We played Cornhole as well. Only complaint is our waiter took awhile collecting our cards, returning them but we understood he was busy and he apologized. Will definitely be back.

I’m kicking myself for not trying this neighborhood staple earlier! We went on a snowy Friday night and discovered a gem. The menu is pure Americana with a large selection of fish, salads & starters for the light bite, or piled high plates of pure bliss if you wish to stuff yourself silly!
I had the perch, which was paired with perfectly roasted redskin potatoes and topped with a bonus of finely sliced & handbattered fried onions that took it to a whole other level. The perch were lightly breaded (larger pieces) that were cooked to perfection & melted in my mouth!
The hubby had every single bite of the Cadillac burger, which was sinfully piled high with crisp bacon, fresh mushrooms & Swiss on a big toasted bun, (big enough to hold everything, which is a plus!) The fries were perfectly well done and the coleslaw we got with each dinner was the best I’ve ever had in a restaurant.
I didn’t get the server’s name, but she was a doll! She said she has worked there “forever”. She gave us the whole story on the place ( and even kind of confirmed my suspicion of it being slightly haunted ). The atmosphere was just right. Clean & simple, no pretention. It’s set in an old Victorian house and super cozy with a lot of smaller tables downstairs and a plenty of space for a larger parties upstairs. Everyone was so nice, even the patronage, that seemed to be regulars.
This reclusive couple is definitely going to be back and make it a regular in our routine.

Excellent fish n chips and perch meals. Fish was very tasty, fresh and good portion sizes. Nice to see on the daily menu. French fries thick and very good. Coleslaw very good, portion size below average . We were upstairs and service was a bit slow primarily due to only one person was taking care of the tables and bar. Both upper and lower levels have a bar & tables.

Pepperoni pizza was good! $8 for the “big slice” which isn’t bad since you basically get three slices. Will be back to try other things on the menu

Wonderful food, plenty of options, great service, and a safe location. I’ve been to Z’s many times and never had a bad meal. The pizza is fantastic, but, they make the best corned beef in town. This place is a Detroit jewel!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! I have eaten at this place before on more than one occasion, so when I decided to go for my lunch break, a coworker asked me to grab them something as well. We spent almost $60 on lunch and our food was HORRIBLE!! First off, it was cold, I asked for ranch and got honey mustard. When I DID remind the cashier that I needed a side of ranch he charged me $1. Second, my fries (that didn’t come with my pita and I had to pay an additional $2.50 for) were really, really, reallllly greasy, hard, and burnt looked like they cooked them twice to warm them up….My coworker’s salad was wilted and definitely not worth $19!! When I called to complain, just to let them know we were disappointed, the “manager” I spoke with brushed it off like oh, well. Told me if I come back next week he could possibly do something about it, I told him that I was NEVER COMING BACK and I meant that! Z’s VILLA will never see my money again.
