OMG, are you guys trying to kill me with salt?
I tried Zaxby’s after seeing an online advertisement and ordered the Southern Fried Shrimp meal.
The food was pathetic and overly salty, including the fries, shrimp, chicken, and even the bread. The Diet Coke Zero also tasted off and had a strange smell.
Overall, the quality did not meet expectations. I am disappointed with this experience and would appreciate a refund.

Poor service. Avoid this place until a sufficient staff is present. Today 12/21/25, I went to Zaxbys for lunch and below is the reason for this complaint:
-12:51 PM – I ordered my food online in the restaurant. It was expected to be ready at 1:10 PM per order confirmation. Granted, there was a small group in front of me but they all recieved their food within 15 mins from their order. It is also important to note that that group also waited for 10 mins before ordering and the restaurant was empty and the drive thru had about 3 cars total at that time.
-1:20 PM – I inquired about my order and they havent even started. At this point 29 mins have passed since the initial order and I was running late for an event, so I requested a refund. The cashier asked for the manager
– 1:30 PM – The manager came, 10 mins after I asked for a refund. Then she explained to me that only 2 supervisors were working (I also counted 5 employees in the back cooking). She said that she would issue me a refund in a few mins.
– 1:50 PM – After 20 minutes of being ignored, the manager decided to cancel my order and issued my refund. This was after me complaining and threatening to post this complaint.

This was by far the worst fast food customer service I’ve ever encountered in the Charlotte Metro area. I also plan to report this poor customer service to their corporate office. The manager spoke to me and told me she had to cancel this order to refund me but instead of just refunding me, she went back to fry chicken while I waited for 30 mins. I believed that she didnt care and at that point and at the time, I felt like she deliberately made me wait. I was in this facility for over an hour and I ended up 30 mins late for my event. This was redicilous and inexcusable. I would avoid this restaurant and I also told my daughter who was with me at the time, to remind me of this horrible service if I ever think about stopping to Zaxbys out of convenience. I will also contact their corporate office and explain the entire story as well. Zaxbys need to do better!

P.S. Regarding their note justifying my refund, I ordered when I arrived in the restaurant so it was not early nor they were “just about to make” this order.

This is the second review I’ve written, I made the mistake of returning only because my daughter likes the food. ABSOLUTELY the WORST service EVER! I’m NEVER in line for less than 40 minutes. Clearly corporate doesn’t care at all. The last time, same situation and I received a phone call from the manager, offering nothing…. Not even a decent apology or explanation! Do yourself a favor and NEVER visit this location. If you do, just know that you’ve been warned
Take the extra minutes and go to Slim Chickens or Dave’s Hot Chicken.

Our cashier was super nice and helpful. The other staff seemed to feel obligated to cuss at us. Employees should know the difference between a house salad, an Asian salad, and a Cobb salad and not yell at us. Sorry we didn’t want to eat the wrong food.

The order was completely wrong and when I called, the manager clearly did not care. Burnt food. Gave me a $9 meal when I ordered a $13 meal. Gave chips instead of fries without telling us and didn’t offer any sort of refund. Burnt Texas toast. Burnt chicken. Terrible service and terrible food.

Called to have my food replaced. That’s it. You would thought I asked the manager for her money out of her check smh. They all was rude decided not to tell her name nor provide the GM name. Why tho? She told me to call back to speak to him. Just rude and nasty for no reason. Why are people allowed to work for you when they can’t take care of the main job. The customer. I’m a service girl so I get it we all have bad days but this is her norm and you can tell it. It’s time out for allowing the wrong people to run establishment. Not only is she wrong but also allowing the others to follow her lead. The other guys was just a rude and that’s s because the manager was allowing it. Leading by example. One bad apple will spoil the bunch. It’s hard for everyone so why not give employment to people who want to work and serve people the right way. Why is ok to just be rude to people? You picked the job! Go work in a warehouse if your not a service kind of girl cause the rude behavior on a Sunday is the devil. Go heal or something.

Awful experience at this location. Waited in the drive thru lane despite not advancing for over 10 minutes. Went inside to place a to go order. Waited for over 30 minutes before asking for an update only to find out my order was never started. Meanwhile, there were 10+ customers with orders behind me, some of which had already complained to staff. Staff delivered poor customer service, gave an attitude and were just blatantly disrespectful. Eventually spoke to the manager who would only put in a refund, no compensation for inconvenience or poor service. Was also rude and not remotely apologetic. Also had to end up changing my order in the end just to receive food in the hour time frame spent in the restaurant. Will not be returning.

I feel like Zaxby’s as a whole is slipping and this location in particular. 3 complaints from my visit to this location today. 1. SLOW service. The poor lady was doing her best but was overwhelmed by customers and no one was available to help her. 2. My nuclear sauce that came with meal had 1/4″ of sauce in the bottom of the cup – not even enough for one tender. 3. No unsweet tea available. The meal was $15 and I feel they could do better. All my food tasted good but I left feeling disappointed and very hesitant to revisit this location anytime soon.

Waited in line for 20 minutes paid $30 for my food just to receive an order that looks like it’s been fried & then refried again. The sauce is dried as if it sat under the heat lamp for hours, the tenders are nasty & the fries are salty. Came home & now my boyfriend & I have nothing to eat ! & no one answers their store phones now ? This is unacceptable. I’m in the service industry & for you to be that slow the food should at least be fresh!!! Will never come back to this location!
